I was able to vacuum my mini-split line set to below 200 microns (about 170). Worked perfectly.

Ran it for hours, changed oil, never got below 500 microns on a bluevac gauge even when connected directly to pump via appion megavac hose - ie it's not a hidden leak

I decided to install the mini-split at my home by myself after getting some really outrageous quotes from several HVAC companies in my area. After a watching some excellent videos on YouTube by HVAC professionals explaining the process, I bought this pump based on their recommendations, plus the vacuum gauge, hoses, valves needed to pressure test and vacuum test the system. It went exactly as in the videos. My system held vacuum at 240 microns with no issues, and the pump didn't break a sweat. The installation passed the city inspection and I saved over $9k in installation charges after after buying all the parts for my install.

Came with the oil. Setup was easy. Got a Mitsubishi mini-split system down below 200 microns in around 10 minutes without removing valve cores.

It’s a decent pump, mine pulls down to 46 micron, so meets the spec. The 4CFM seems a little optimistic, I’d say it’s probably closer to 2.5, but I haven’t measured it, just seems a little slow even when pulling down only the gage manafold. Its decent for the price. I wish I would have waited for the 2CFM two stage version to be in stock. I work mostly on refrigerators so don’t need lots of CFM. I’m pleased with it so far. It’s very quite, about 1/5th as loud as my JB so that’s nice when you have to keep working around it while it’s running. Gave it 4 stars because it’s not a fast as I was expecting, but it’s still new and might need a break in period. It wouldn’t keep me from buying it again, just isn’t quite what I was expecting, but it’s less than 1/2 the price of pumps I’ve used before. I’d call it a light use pro or higher end hobby pump. I don’t think I’d want to abuse it day in and day out, but it’s not a $600 pro priced model so that’s not really a negative. I doubt it’ll pull much lower than 300-400 micron in actual real world use, which is good enough I guess for most uses. We’ll see once I get some jobs done with it.
