got 'em on sale, they work decently but feel kind of sloppy in the hand, a little thin a little chintzy overall. if they last more than a season i might come back and say so if not they probably fell into the just-in-case pile

Not fancy, but it seems solid and reasonably precise. There is a little looseness in the jaw joint ‒ the jaws slide past each other more easily than need be, but there's only about 3mm maximum forced offset in the meeting surfaces of the jaws. Without side pressure they line up perfectly. I tried to tighten the joint by hammering on what one might call the rivet side of the axis. I hammered a lot, pretty hard with an ordinary carpentry hammer of a size shy of a framing hammer, against the anvil area of a modest home bench vise. The joint didn't seem to tighten at all. I guess that shows some strength.I'm habitually ambivalent as to the merits of name-brand tools. On the whole, they're better than the competition, of which some is good and some bad. For a premium on the price, the name brands tend to rarely fall below decent. This tool is good. Better than decent.

This is a typical high quality adjustable wrench from crescent. The slipjaws function perfectly, they are easy to adjust, the size is good and they have nice leverage and grip to the handles. They are a great value for the money.

This pair of Crescent 10" Tongue & Groove Pliers has quickly become a staple in our farm's mobile tool kit. Known for their durability, Crescent tools are our go-to, and this pair lives up to the reputation. The V-Jaw design is especially useful for tough tasks like loosening stubborn hoses from spigots, proving its worth regularly. The black oxide finish not only adds to the tool's durability but also prevents rust, making it ideal for outdoor use around the farm. I highly recommend these pliers for any farm needing reliable, tough tools that can handle a variety of jobs.

These pliers have a solid grip and adjust nicely for different sizes. The V-jaw design is great for holding onto things tightly. They feel durable and are easy to use for everyday tasks.

I have an old, worn out pair of slip joint pliers that I have been fighting with for years, so it was time to find a replacement for them. These Crescent pliers fit the bill nicely. The black oxide finish is simple and effective. The coated handles give you just enough grip but don't make the handles too thick to get your hands around. My old pair of pliers had a very sloppy joint in them and would slip to the next setting without even looking at them. These Crescent pliers have a nice, positive positions stops. They are a little tight new, but I am sure they will wear in over time. The v-jaws really give you a nice bite on pipes. You can get away with some smaller flat stock material, but you should really get a set of straight jaw pliers if you plan on working with a lot of flat material.Overall I think this will take the primary slip jaw plier seat, and let my old pair relax in the toolbox in the house.
