The back of the heel has a special design that fits perfectly with open heel fins for scuba diving. The small boss is used to prevent the slipping of the fins strap.

Bought these for a trip to Bali. The hard soles proved very useful for rocky entries at Tulamben, Japanese Wreck, etc. They're comfortable on my wide feet, too.

As soon as I got home put them on. Perfect fit. Good weight. Not heavy. Old brand went out to trash right away. Worth the buy. Excellent quality. Super comfy. Buying second pair in case I need " a stand by".

Needed a new pair of boots for shore diving in Bonaire. Fit of these is snug but comfortable. The (very) hard soles have a nice "hiking boot" pattern molded in for non-slip walking across slippery rock entries. The hard rubber makes walking over rough terrain and rocks/coral rubble much more comfortable.

These are not for every diver but for those whose entry/exists require a hard sole. I really needed booties that were low cut and with hard soles for making walk-ins in Indonesia where the beaches can have varying sizes of smooth volcanic rocks. These should be perfect for an upcoming trip and fit well in my existing fins. My softer soled booties are also Cressi which I will take with me for boat diving. I've always been pleased with Cressi products. The try before you buy option was great!

These diving boots do exactly what they were designed to do---they protect me going in and coming out of the sea where I swim most every day. The iron shore is treacherous and my old 'booties' were simply too thin-soled to offer the protection I needed. These are the real deal--tough protection with Italian good looks.
