I have a different set of button materials with plastic bases that I unexpectedly loved, so I went looking for more of the same. So I bought these, but they're terrible. The metal shells are so flimsy that they crinkle, bend, and buckle with little effort, and the plastic backs/bases feel just as flimsy and cheap. No matter what I do, the buttons I make with these pieces fall apart almost immediately -- the bases just fall out of the shells, and the shells themselves end up looking bulged, and they buckle under the slightest pressure, resulting in an uneven surface on the buttons. After trying to make a handful of buttons, I had to return these -- they were just too unreliable, and I hated using them.

I have a Tigoola 2.25” pin machine. I’ve seen reviews about rust and having to put together the backing pins. Although I have so far seen none of these problems, the backings are way too thick and a few of them have some sort of dirt? The reviews I’ve seen of rust contained pins with the “dirt,” so I’m a little scared to find out if there’s a rusty backing out there in my bag. Rust isn’t good for humans, so I’m just wondering how this stuff got qualified…As for the metal pieces, they were pretty good. I saw reviews saying they were bent, and I did get a few bent pieces, but nothing I couldn’t fix. I just popped it back into shape and it was done. The plastic mylar was pretty strange, to say the least. This is an unnecessary thing, but they came packed together where I had to manually separate them all. It wasn’t a hard job at all, just not something I’m used to doing. Compared to the plastic mylar that came with the Tigoola pin machine, these ones had a sort of yellowish tinge to them. Because it’s my first time purchasing replacement pin supplies, I’m not sure if this is normal, but I am a bit concerned. In general, you need to use thinner paper for the plastic to actually work well, and the backing is way too thick. I’ve identified that the size is a little too big, but it definitely fits. But basically, the quality sucks. I wanted to have consistency with the backing shape, but this isn’t a good replacement at all. I won’t be purchasing this ever again.

My daughter wanted the set to make buttons and quickly went through the buttons that came with the maker. Ordered these so she could continue her crafting, worked as described with no issues.

Unfortunately, I misjudged the size and they don’t fit the machine I have. I took off 1 star because the back is plastic.

All these peices work super well!! High quality buttons for not too much,if it doesnt work I'd consider looking up YouTube tutorials for your button press, wrinkly mylar has nothing to do with the quality and everything to do with ineffective button press technique, I've been making buttons for a few years now and these are a super inexpensive alternative to any others I have used, I just went through all 100 I got, and I'm considering getting more!!
