I bought this after being informed that it's supposed to work on an Asian A340 transmission. It does not!It doesn't fit in the case to remove the first and reverse piston. Waste of money!

The tool does work just not all that great on it's own. The bottom of the tool where it goes into the snap ring grove tends to pop out of the grove when pressure is applied. I used some locking pliers to clamp them to the drum and worked that way no problem. I do like that it has the hand knob to apply pressure onto the spring.

It worked for every snap ring. As long as there is a groove to anchor the legs, it works to depress the spring pack to remove the snap ring.Rebuilt a 700r4 with this tool.

If you're rebuilding an automatic transmission then this tool is invaluable. It's easy to use and well built. Before I bought this I looked at other clutch spring compressors and didn't like the lack of working area they allowed. This tool let me get my hands in where I needed them to be in order to do the job right.
