Really well constructed. It is made of a good thick material. Easy to clean and looks like it would hold a good amount of veggies. Great design for longer veggies like asparagus. I can see where the white insert could get stained by carrots or sweet potatoes like others mentioned, but honestly who cares every plastic container I have had has stained it’s plastic that’s gonna happen. It in no way affects how the cooker works. I thought it was a great price for the quality of the product.

This will get your kids to eat their vegetables. I add 1 Tbl of water and 1 Tbl of squeeze bottle lime juice to the steamer. Fill the basket with my fave fresh veggies and nuke it. My microwave is 1000 watts so I adjusted my time to 2 minutes and 45 seconds. I also keep the vent closed during cooking. Remove and let stand for 1 minute. Open the vent then you are ready to eat. Read ALL directions and keep your face away when you remove the lid to avoid any left-over steam. Went through my dishwasher just fine. I used the top rack. If I hand-wash it with soap, I do not use a pad to avoid scratching the plastic. Give you a recipe book. I write my adjusted time in the book. Did fresh Halibut and so flaky and moist! Cut it into strips so I had steam going all around it. Critical step? I don't know. Wanted to make sure it came out good ($30 /lb.) so better safe than sorry. I did read NOT to sauce/season then cook to avoid carry over smells and tastes from other dishes. Makes scents :-) to me. A GREAT BUY!

Our first venture with a steamer. Great for the 2 of us for almost any type of veggie for sides at lunch or supper. So far, we have done small potatoes, with broccoli . We washed & pierced the potatoes & larger ones we cut in half….. add 2 Tablespoons of water to the bottom, put steamer rack on top with your veggies laid out ,then the steamer cover & in approx. 5-8 minutes in the microwave, well all done ! I didn’t open the “ vent “ on the top & veggies were fantastic & super QUICK ‼️. Loved the ease of use, & steamer wash up was a breeze 😊✔️. Now on to carrots, asparagus & whatever else we can think of !

I love this steamer! So glad I picked this one. The veggies I'm steaming have resulted in perfection! I've used steamer bags for years, but this steamer beats them by far! This steamer is also well made/designed and it's really sturdy. I'm very impressed!

I wanted to move away from using single use plastic steamer bags, so I ordered this steamer last week. Used it for the first time last night to steam a huge head of broccoli. I followed the suggested time in the instruction booklet of 3.5 minutes with 2 tbsp of water. It turned out a smidge less cooked than I prefer (but again, there was a LOT of broccoli in there) but I also had the steam vent open, so next time I'll try it with that closed (or use less broccoli, haha). Couldn't be easier to use and clean up though, and I love that it's long enough to steam asparagus or carrots in there. This will definitely be getting a lot of use in my kitchen!

This steamer is very sturdy. It is well made and is easy to use. No wobbling or getting your hands steamed taking it out of the microwave above the stove . The vegetables we have cooked have tasted fantastic. It was hard for us to believe just 2 tablespoons of water steams 4to 5 cups of vegetables, but it does . I highly recommend this steamer! It holds three large ears of corn. I’ve reheated leftover pasta using 2 tablespoons of water and 3 cups of refrigerated cold pasta. I was amazed the pasta was not gummy or overcooked, just as fresh as the day it was made. . I use this steamer daily. Dishwasher safe too! Holds 4-5 cups of vegetables!!!

I use this nearly everyday. It steams so quickly and effectively. Follow the directions or find what works for your microwave. I use a shorter time and keep the veggies covered, still cooking a bit more, until I’m ready to put the meal together. Cleaning is super quick as well. Much better cooking device than expected. Size is great and it is very sturdy.

I love this steamer. It is a perfect size to cook fish, meat or chicken and veggies. Works like a charm and easy peasy. Now I feel like I will cook more often for me. Less mess than using oven. Comes with some nice recipies. Definately recommend. Very happy with it!

Sweet potatoes turned out terrific with just the right softness, but stained the tray. . I bought this specifically for sweet potato treats for my dogs. I have since steamed asparagus and regular potatoes with great results. The plastic is of good heavy quality and the plastic remains in excellent condition, despite the staining. The bottom of the bowl is stamped recycle 5 (In pic) which is the code for polypropylene, a BPA free substance. So I will continue to use it. 1 star off for the staining, which makes the dish look dirty every time I use it.

I cannot say enough good things about this steamer. As someone with limited kitchen access, limited cooking skills, and who always burns the simplest of foods to cook in a pan, this has been a life saver. It allows me to cook a huge range of foods - chicken, ground beef, fish, vegetables of all kinds - and they always come out nice and moist. Some fish such as tilapia or cod get a little too soft, but as long as you're careful transferring them to a plate, it's fine. The time guide in the manual has been very helpful and accurate, and while I haven't used any of them, the little recipe book was a nice addition as well.Cleaning is pretty easy, though ground beef and chicken can be a bit trickier to clean off, since they leave a small layer of oil and grease that doesn't wipe off super easily from the plastic. I find using a paper towel to wipe it off after washing helps a lot to get rid of the oils.I would 100% recommend this to anyone who cannot cook on a stove for any reason. I make 90% of my meals in this now, alongside a similar pasta steamer.

We accidentally ruined one of our collapsible strainers trying to steam some vegetables and decided to look for a microwave steamer. While most of the options out there were bulky, this Cuisinart steamer was a bit more streamlined and - bonus points - it was rectangular to facilitate properly steaming longer vegetables like asparagus. We've used it a number of times and the vegetables come out perfectly crisp and not over done. Takes no time at all and allows for a bit more pot space on a very small cooktop. The steamer is really well made, more than adequate size for us and fits easily into our microwave to full rotate on the turntable. Very pleased with this steamer and would highly recommend.
