Your cart is empty.A CURT anti-rattle hitch pin provides smoother, quieter towing by tightening down your trailer hitch connection and deterring noise and vibrations. The anti-rattle kit is comprised of a threaded pin and shim. The shim inserts into the towing accessory shank and can then be installed into the receiver. Then, the threaded hitch pin inserts into the side of the receiver and gets tightened down with a wrench. Together, the hitch pin and anti-rattle shim lock the shank in place and promote a quiet and more enjoyable towing experience. This anti-rattle trailer hitch pin and shim device fit a standard 2-inch x 2-inch receiver with a 5/8-inch pin hole. The kit is compatible with hollow-shank accessories only.

Item took a bit of work installing correctly due to close space on the back of a tesla model y but was able to get in place.It did secure the hitch as expected but did not purely silence the "wiggling" of the hitch which still tranlated to the interior of the car. It did improve from not having at all though so was still a good value and glad I bought it.The quality of the parts is high, no concern with the look of it to degrade over time, rust or just not last.

This mechanical assembly is not the perfect solution, but it is very sturdy and engineered well and does quiet my hitch significantly. I can still wiggle my hitch up and down, but that’s because of how this is made and used. There’s no perfect solution to having a hitch, that doesn’t move upper down or sideways and rattle. Great product, but difficult to use if you are taking your hitch on and off frequently, because it’s intended in my opinion to be used once and permanently.

Easy to install and does a great job of tightening up the hitch and eliminating rattles. I probably would just use a regular pin for a quick haul, but for a longer trip this makes things a lot smoother and quieter.

I won't repeat the previous positive critical reviews that are well said about good function of this device. They helped me make an informed decision to get this. I think it is better than the U-clamp types I have used. It works as advertised and is sturdy. In regards to install directions, I easily found how-to diagrams on the web. It is not hard to install. You will need a 15/16 socket. I do suggest you get the 5/8" larger size rather than the 1/2" size if your ball mount hitch accepts that. I recommend this product. It does what is supposed to do, and think it is of good quality.

Bought this to help install a Harbor Freight hitch cargo carrier to the back of my car. The carrier wobbled heavily before, so after looking up solutions it was either this or the other anti-rattle device that clamps under the hitch. There's not a ton of room on the Tesla Model Y to fit that other one, so this one was the only option. It works, but there's no real way of tightening it without a 15/16ths socket and a ratcheting socket wrench. And without tightening it, it still wobbles like crazy. Some of this falls down to my car and hitch's design, so I can't fault this pin too much, but this info really should be in the description.I have plenty of sockets, but not a 15/16ths one, so I had to go out and buy one as well as a ratcheting socket wrench that accepts 1/2 inch sockets (only had a 3/8ths one). Might be better if your hitch is out in the open rather than recessed in like mine, which would allow you more room to tighten it with a regular wrench or and adjustable one. Or if you plan on installing it once and never taking it off then I guess it wouldn't be too much of an issue, but my plan was to use it and remove it as hitch accessories are needed, which seems like it will be a pain. Works, but is not very convenient.

Installed on a 2" receiver and tightened up with a 15/16 socket on a 1/2" drive ratchet. Probably took longer to find the right socket then it did to install the anti-rattle bolt. Towed our little camper on a 1100 mile camping trip with virtually no rattle noises except over low-speed bumps. Probably the trailer ball clunking inside the ball mount, not the inside the receiver, which seemed rattle-free. The only caveat is make sure the ball mount is hollow (most 2" are, but not necessarily all 1 1/4" ball mounts) for the internal shim. Highly recommend and happy towing!
