The Tungsten carbide inserts are just like higher priced surgical scissors, and these are well made, balanced and sharp. I’ve seen comparable brand name scissors priced regularly at ten times the price. No need for that. These are great. The gold rings signify TC inserts.

Nice quality Mayo scissors. Instrument weight was appropriate. Blades were sharp. Autoclaved well.
