Worked best for my mom if she cut the cells apart before use, since they got soft over time (expected given the material) none molded and they worked like a charm. The roots of our greenbean sprouts grew through them like they werent thereStored these in our laundry room and when it got humid in there the smell was pretty bad lol. Threw a towel over them in a desperate middle of the night attempt to deal with it and that worked though, so we'll need to remember that for next time we get some that they need to be stored differently 😂

For six years, I cared for my trumpet plants. They got a disease and died. I couldn't find plants, so I purchased cuttings. I could find plastic little pots everywhere but was told to purchase fiber pots you could eventually replant them in. I couldn't find what I wanted at other big box stores, so I went back to Amazon. I found these and ended up purchasing two different sizes. They worked so well that I've made cuttings and replanted other varieties. They saved me much aggravation.

Excellent product. Super-easy to transplant when time to re-pot or plant outdoors. Roots penetrate easily, preventing root-bound stunted plants. Great improvement!!! Before I found Daniel's Naked Pots, I used 2-inch peat pots for the seed germination stage. Not such a good idea. The peat was too impenetrable and the roots were becoming bound up. Transplanting into these non-peat 4-inch pots, the starts grew rapidly and the roots eventually grew through these plantable pots. No need to remove these Naked Pots; just placed them in gallon pots, awaiting the great outdoors, where they will be placed in the garden soil. Next year I will begin with Daniel's Naked Pots.

I bought a set of these peat pots after reading a bunch of different product reviews on other comparable items, and am very pleased with the results. They came in, and while some of them stuck together pretty well as I was separating them for planting, they seemd sturdy enough right from the get-go. I read that some people were disappointed by these falling apart too easily, but in my mind, I was buying them to biodegrade, so wouldn't that be a good thing? They were just right- sturdy enough that I planted peas, corn, pumpkins, watermelons, cucumbers, and a number of other seeds and they held together with a few thorough soakings (from the bottom up). I planted everything right in the ground this year, and by the time I had the seedlings hardened off, some of the roots were starting to grow right through the peat pots (also a good thing in my opinion). Strong enough to hold together for sprouting, growing and hardening off, biodegradable enough for roots to start growing through right around the time of planting. These worked so well I went back and bought a second set! High reccomendations if you're looking for a dependable biodegradable option for your garden.

I have been using 3" jiffy pots for my seed starters and thought these looked a bit more efficient and cost effective. These wicked up the moisture and were immediately saturated and stayed that way. Once saturated they are very challenging to move without tearing. Maybe because they are so saturated, I got a layer of fungus over the top of all these trays. I had 3" jiffy pots in the same covered tray and they did not develop fungus. Yes, I can probably figure out how to avoid it, but the fact that the material becomes so saturated is likely the problem. I bottom water with just a small amount, but it quickly wicked through the entire tray. Bottom line, I probably will not buy these again.

We are using these to start trees from seed. It's great to be able to plant the seedlings, pot and all, into the ground, making short work of the transplanting process! The only negative is that the pots are stacked inside each other for ease of packaging and shipping. Some of the pots were stuck together a little tightly to be removed easily. I tore one too badly to be able to use it, but after that I figured out the easiest way to remove one from the stack was to be a little more patient and twist it before trying to pull directly up. Worked like a charm! I highly recommend using these. They break down in the soil, so there's no pot to throw away. The world has enough plastic in landfills and polluting waters. It's nice not to contribute to that waste. I'll be using these from now on!

As far as peat pots go, these are great! They are decently sturdy, they hold soil, and plants grow in them. Through using these I realized that I just don't like peat pots. If you live in an arid climate, like I do, you will realize just how fast peat pots dry out. Most potted plants only lose moisture from the top surface of the soil. In peat post, water is evaporating from every surface. The issue with this is the plants dry out incredibly fast, which can, oddly enough, lead to over watering. As the plants dry out quickly, you may start to water too much to try and keep up with the increased water loss. Of course, all of these complaints are for peat pots as a whole, not this specific product. Peat pots are great if you understand how to manage them. While these absolutely get the job done, they make starting plants indoors much more work than it would be with less permeable pots. If you know you want to grow in peat pots and you understand how they react differently than standard pots, then I would absolutely recommend these. If you, like me, want to grow your plants in the easiest way possible, I cannot recommend these.
