I bought a newer model PS4 controller at a garage sale (there's a light bar in the touch screen) for $4 and it wasn't holding a charge (I guess that's why it was $4). Some years ago when I thought my old model PS4 controller (doesn't have a light bar in the touch pad) wasn't holding a charge I bought a new battery for it (but I later found out I just had a bad micro-USB and never used the battery), and that older battery didn't fit in this one. I bought this because it's the type of battery that fits this model controller (so make sure you get the right battery type).The battery came fully charged and after installing it I found that it works pretty well. I read some reviews that said "leaked after a week" and while I'm not opening up my controller again to check, it's still working so I doubt it's leaking. I also saw some that said "only lasted a week," and right now I'm charging it and it seems to be working fine. Like, I have a charging doc and when a battery wouldn't hold a charge it would show as fully charged on the gauge, this is showing "1 bar, then 2 bars" like my original controller with a Sony battery.This is my experience, aftermarket battery replacements are for when the original battery fails, and my $4 garage sale find needed a new battery so after buying this I got a controller for under $20. The battery life doesn't seem as long as my controller with an official battery, and shipping took longer than expected (said it'd get here by Friday and it didn't come until Saturday), so I didn't write a 4 star review just because "1 star and 5 star reviews don't seem authentic," but if your original battery won't hold a charge anymore it gets the job done.

The battery works great it was fully charged when I received it so I could get back to playing my game as soon as I installed it. It was the correct size and fit with no adjustments needed. 5 star and would highly recommend.
