This power supply unit works well for basic electronics projects. It provides accurate voltage and current readings, and the adjustable settings are easy to use, despite the annoying beeping of the knob. The build quality feels solid. However, the USB-C charging is slow, and the lack of banana plug compatibility is a minor inconvenience. It's a functional but not particularly feature-rich power supply.

This is the TPS305 version. DC power supply with USB-A and C connections. I was able to get 26.67w of power out of the USB-C to charge a Dell laptop. It does work but it indicates a slow charge even with two different USB-C cables. The knob does have annoying beeps for every step which is rather annoying. As others have pointed out it can be disabled with a long press.I think this would be improved if the USB-C power can be sorted out. It should be able to support over 26W if it can handle 150W total.

This is a very nice and well-built benchtop PSU! I've tried a few of them recently and this one works well. I didn't find any problems with my unit. It outputs correctly according to my multimeter so I am not hesitant to use it at all. It's very easy to adjust the amps or the voltage on this device, beeping aside. I do recommend this benchtop power supply unit but if you can get the 10A version, I would certainly consider that one since it's not that much more expensive than the 5A version. Still, the 5A version is very affordable and I wouldn't hesitate to order it again.

This power supply functions well enough with typical construction and performance for the type but I prefer my other 30V 5A supplies including a very similar older Wanptek GC305H version. The primary distinction of this TPS305 model is the horizontal orientation. The form factor of the box is the same as other models but this one is rotated 90 degrees to provide a shorter, wider box on the bench. If vertical space considerations are important for you then this could be an advantage. However I found I didn't really like this format because it sits lower on the bench and is a little harder to read than the customary vertical supplies. The encoder design is a good one that has been adopted by several manufacturers now. Its easy to adjust and quick to set to a precise value. However, there is a loud beep with every keypress which is really annoying. My older Wanptek supply has the same quirk, but it has a button on the front that can kill the sound. The Amazon description claims that this one can be silenced also but I think they forget to add that control since I can find no way to shut it off. This PS is also described as being "programmable" but I have no idea what that refers to since there is no way to program anything. The four buttons (Out, V/A, QCP and power) are difficult to use since they are completely black with a slightly engraved legend. I found I have to squint closely to make sure I am hitting the Out button and not the power. Something like white lettering would have been a big improvement. Perhaps I'll try to add that myself. There are two USB charging ports present, one A and one C, but the USB-C port did not work in the unit that I received. Overall, this is a mostly capable power supply but there are several problems with it and I believe there are better options available.Edit - After posting this review the manufacturer messaged me to state that the beep can be turned off (or on) by long pressing the encoder knob. That is very helpful since it not only kills the incessant beeps but retains that state as a permanent setting so that other than the inital startup beep there is no further sound. Beeps can be restored again by another long press whenever desired. Audio confirmation of keypresses is very much a personal preference. I sometimes use it on other devices that are not quite so loud, but found it quite annoying on this PS, so this capability does address one of the complaints I had concerning this device, and I commend the manufacturer for responding. I reread both the Amazon description and the manual and there is no mention of this, so perhaps that information can be added in the future. The remainder of my review is unchanged.

First, MAKE SURE YOU SET THE RED SWITCH TO "115" in order to run it off North American voltage. It comes set to 220V. So that is key to success out of the box!OK so I am a self admitted and openly proud electronics nerd, slash hobbyist. I like to tinker and figure stuff out and I like to fix stuff that has let out the blue smoke monster rather than throwing it away and replacing it with more expensive stuff that will eventually let the blue smoke monster out. I have learned a ton over the years and I have saved a bunch of moolah doing it! One thing I have ALWAYS WANTED but never got for myself is a benchtop power supply. I did all my rigging, testing and tinkering off of batteries, hacked up AC/DC wall warts and any other messy method of getting the DC voltage I needed for the project I was working on. So when I seen this I HAD to give it a go! BOY am I glad I did! This unit is really nice and I’m not just saying that! It even has USB/USB-C ports on the front for convenience! The display is EASY to see, even with my aging eyes and the interface is very user friendly and intuitive. It was simple to get out of the box, up and running and powering up stuff on my bench without looking at the manual. The knob has clicks on it that can be felt and are matched with a beep. The knob also presses in to select ANY of the numbers on the display to fine tune that number, so the resolution can be finely adjusted to exactly what is wanted. Now, you will have to put a multimeter on your leads and set up to figure out your line loss and so forth and for mine it was offset by only 0.04 of a volt. That’s spectacular in my opinion. The unit is nice and compact and offers a really good range of versatility with 0-30V and up to 5A output! Now I can even charge batteries that were stubborn to cooperate with my multi-chem battery charger. I have a few 12V LiFePO batteries that would argue with all of my chargers and now I can just hook them up to this and keep an eye on it with a timer and I am off to the lake with a battery that can last the day with my fish finder or whatever.I have used this to tinker and run LED projects, test LED TV light strips, run motors and servos, power up Drone boards and drones for testing, RC airplane stuff, RC cars/trucks, Even charge one cell of an RC battery isolated and fixed the error of that battery that I have had for a long time. I’ve played with this plenty and for the hobbyist or tinker-er this is an excellent power supply solution.I would order this one again. It is pretty awesome in my book and I have enjoyed messing around with it. Multimeter verification of settings has been spot on (considering connection and line losses) and I have found nothing to complain about and I like to complain. This one is a winner. A+++++
