A traditional linear supply - NOT a switching supply with all the resulting RFI.

This is an excellent example of a linear regulated power supply. For low noise audio applications, this type of supply produces less 60 Hz residual noise than switching supplies.

These Jameco power supplies are very good for your money. These are actual linear regulated power supplies, not Regulated SMPS as mentioned by another review: A heavy E-I core transformer(not toroidal, but still a real iron core transformer), rectifiers diodes, smooth capacitors and IC regulator. It cannot get better than this at this price. It's a good alternative to cheap/generic wall wart SMPS to provide clean power for DACs.Pay attention to the required DC voltage and output current, this is a 6W(0.5A at 12V) power supply. Some other DACs or streamers like Wiim mini/pro/pro plus or raspberry pi with/without HAT DACs require 5V and Jameco has other models for 5V.

This is just fine. However please be advised that this is globally regulated SWM. Not to be mistaken with their use of "linear".It does fall under that definition. Just not as one would be expecting in this field. Using a EI core transformer should be the giveaway here. It works fine nonetheless. It presents with reasonably low noise.Do not expect to be using this with high end audio equipment though. Who would? For it's intended application it works absolutely As it should.Overall it is good. Better than okay. Just not a true linear PSU.If that is to matter to you.
