Replaced a section of pressure treated decking with these and used the entire amount in the box. Every one installed without an issue, the torx head was great with no stripped screws. I do wonder how long the coating will last since I noticed some exposed metal from the bit contact.

Bought a 5lbs box of these tan-colored 2.5-inch decking screws for a small woodworking project. So far they've been great - had one screw that wouldn't go all the way in, but I replaced it with another screw. The star drive works really well (and so much better than attempting to drive Philips head screws into my timber). The label on the box says no pilot holes are necessary, but I tested a couple of screws on my lumber and it split, so to be safe I drill a 3mm pilot hole first.

Great screws, these are tough and reliable, never had a problem. Made me switch over to Torx bits, and happily so. Can't go back to Philips/Robertsons ever again, unless forced to.
