It is not UV more like purple LOL, I use UV drop lights for fishing which I make myself and test itin my shop on my UV paint and powder tainted lures and they pop out but not with this light, My plan wasto drop this in 35 to 40 ft in the daytime on a cloudy day, it's not happening back to plan A.

I was sceptical when I purchased this light as there were no solid reviews about its performance. A friend and I went deep drop fishing recently in waters 200m (600ft) to 500m (1500ft) deep. We used squid as our primary bait and cut bonito as the seconday. I used this purple light (by the way, it doesn't flash) and he used the multi-colour, flashing popsicle light (another brand). Well, I ended up catching way more fish than he did and we were using the same type of bait on the same boat. Even though I had the multi-colour flashing light in this brand, I was too excited catching fish to change it. We checked his light eveytime before he dropped just to confirm that it was working...and it was. All I can say it that this purple light works and works well. Next time I will try no light, flashing multi-colour light and see if I get more or fewer bites.

Great overall product. Used these quite a few times deep dropping to 800’. No water intrusion or corrosion. I do wish the UV color was a bit brighter but it’s catching so I’m not complaining.

The LP lights are twice the price for less quality. I fish for a living and I use my gear. I’ve owned about 20If these and all have been excellent

Not sure it helps catch fish any better but it is bright and easy to use. It was bigger than I expected but worked good for halibut.
