Recent Dell computers sport a Dell-only display cable, designed to plug into Dell high-resolution displays. It's NOT HDMI. I use a Samsung QLED 4K smart TV as my display - it has HDMI inputs. The Dell Adapter - DisplayPort to HDMI 2.0 (4K) solved my problem.Plugged it in and it worked immediately.Has yet to fail, recovers from warm and cold boots easily.I'd recommend this to anyone who buys a Dell tower computer but doesn't have a Dell display.

4K 60fps works great! I’m using it for gaming and feel no lag or delay at all!

A bit expensive but it’s the easiest way to push past 1080 from DP to HDMI.Using it on a Dell laptop to Alienware AWD3418DW (3440 x 1440) with no issues.

I've tried this adapter on both a Dell Optiplex 7070 Micro, and an Optiplex 5070 SFF, with different monitors/hdmi cables (including a brand new Dell HDMI monitor and cable), and I've had issues with the monitors coming back up when resuming from sleep. A reboot is necessary to bring the monitor back up. I've switched to Cable Matters Active DP/HDMI adapters (larger squares) which seem to be much more reliable.

I've tried every possible HDMI cable available and have a complete Dell set up from laptop to monitors to docking station. No matter what cable is used it doesn't recognize. Would give zero stars if able.
