All 3 picks arrived in good order. None of them were loose in the handles and were straight. I heated one of them and it didn't bend under the flame. The tip remained straight and sharp.

My expectations—I don't think—were unreasonable in relation to sturdiness, but I do find them lacking in that regard. The tool itself is very easy to toggle back and forth in the handle. I would prefer it be more stable.

These picks seem like a bargain. They are larger than a similar titanium pick I have. There are longer and the titanium shaft is larger in diameter than my other one and that may be ok because the older one is about half the diameter of these picks and was prone to overheating and I burned the tip off on a couple of occasions. What I will say is these picks are better suited for bigger soldering jobs and the previous one is better for finer work. So a person probably needs two sizes anyway. After all a person can’t have too many tools can they????

These are sweet soldering picks! Solder doesn't stick to 'em, and the (*ahem*) shaft is much thicker and more sturdy than on other picks I've used. Plus, with three in a package they are a really great price. In light of the fact that these are quite robust, I'll not be mowing through them, so the different colors will make it easy to reserve a different pick for use with each different metal/solder type (i.e.: silver solder vs bronze, etc...). Nice.

I have a lot of trouble getting the solder to stay where it is placed so I hope that better tools such as these picks will help.I learned from my instructor that I should not quench them, the tip may become brittle and break off. She puts the tip in a bottle of vermiculite to cool slowly. I just put the picks aside to cool at room temperature. The points are very sharp so are easy to use, but I was so sorry the tip turned black instead of staying the lovely, pristine, dark silver of titanium. I cleaned them with steel wool and they got better, but still somewhat black. I did notice that my solder didn't seem to stick to it as much as it did to steel tweezers.

They are PERFECT!The quality is decent and actually higher than I expected but I did expect pretty low based on price. The aluminum handles are nice, they are sturdy, decently anodized, perfect diameter, and the hexagon at the end keeps it from rolling when you set it down. The titanium IS real titanium. The diameter is thin though so even titanium bends at this size so be careful. They came with wicked tips on them that can really pierce but they included plastic guards for them.I didn't buy these for soldering though I imagine they would work great for that. I bought them to use as a titanium dabber for smoke oil/wax/budder. I don't like anything I am finding on Amazon or anywhere else, and most of the titanium choices are just too expensive. The price was more than right for this and it ended up being the best possible tool I could have bought!
