This is a great looking piece lit up. The light floods mainly the bottom portion of the ghost them gradually fades to a softer light at the top. But why is Dept. 56 so inconstant with their products when it comes to power? I only use power adaptors and this piece has a very short cord attached to it. So when it's plugged in the connection is in the display instead of having a cord long enough to run to the back of table top like the other ones do. I have to put this cool Ghost towards the rear of the display or figure a way to conceal the male/female connectors. New products have longer cords. Live, buy and learn from Dept. 56.

Eerie glow and perfect for the graveyard scene for my Dept. 56 Halloween village! Glows cold white so that is does have a bluish hue to it. Very bright so it lights up the area around it.

Updated review: It had bothered me for years how bright this otherwise great ghost was. This year I was able to break the ghost off from the grave by shimming a pairing knife down between the ghost and the gravestone. At the base of the grave I popped the ghost pretty easily off from the base without doing damage to either one. Then I took a small piece of thick paper, cut out a square to go over the LED and filter out some of the light. I tested it before gluing it back together and it cut the light by half and looked perfect. Glued the ghost back to the base and its absolutely perfect now.Original review: I do like the piece. It is a bit bright for me too. the color of the light is nice I think for a ghost. I have added it to my graveyard next to my evil circus. I took these photos without a flash to try and show how bright it really is. Because of that they are a little blurry. At least it gives you a sense of how bright it is compared to the moon piece and the rest of the yellow lights of the other buildings and elements.
