Nothing wrong with them, dust and hair sticks to them, but easily cleaned. Expected for silicone material.

We use these gaskets in our ice cream manufacturing factory. They are of high quality and provide the expected seals between 2 tri-clamp connections.

I like that one of my greatest strengths are my resourcefulness and sheer tenacity. Don't think items like this are only useful for what they are made for. I had a set of cute mason jar salt and pepper shakers with metal lids that were small. I love the metal lid look better than the bulky white plastic some come with because it's more realistic mason jar looking. However, the metal lids do not have a seal and are just flat metal. We had a year of constant, daily leaks of salt and pepper on the floor of our cabinet. After using a shaker, and turning it upright again to place in the cabinet, a lot of salt would come out of the edge of the metal caps since there was no seal. So messy and annoying beyond words. Ring seals for jar lids in various sizes as small as 1 3/4" outer diameter and 1" inner diameter are impossible to find. I tried hot glue, thinking the thickness of a large bead of hot glue would allow the top edge of the jar a sealed cushion, but it did not work and I don't know why. I must have spent two straight days, searching the internet for a solution for a seal and couldn't find anything. I searched to see if there were some baby bottle nipples that had a 1 3/4" diameter, and just cut off the nipple portion, but who knew?? None of the manufacturer or retail sites offer nipple diameter dimensions!!! With all the various sized openings of bottles I'm surprised at the oversight of everybody in the world. Then I changed my search to silicone gaskets and started finding rings, but they were mostly for hardware, pipes, mechanical items, pool pumps, etc, and made out of a round solid tube of silicone. I needed flat. Finally I stumbled upon this product on Amazon, and oh my goodness ... problem solved!!! I had to cut off the very outer narrow edge of the gasket to fit in the lid, but this was smoothly easy since it butts up against a ridge that makes it easy to guide the scissors around the circle and not over-cut into the ring. It was a perfect snug fit!! The 3/4' inner diameter of this gasket only cuts off a few holes on the top and bottom of the S & P letters, not enough to impact the shaking of the salt and pepper. Actually they always came out too heavy so this solved that problem too.I have several small, unique jars of various sizes between 2" and 1" outer diameter for spice storage, bead storage, etc. and most came with a flat, unsealed lid. I now know where to go to seal them in the future since this gasket can be cut to fit almost any of them.Think outside the box folks, and solve those tedious annoyances. LOL
