I received a defective remanufactured rack and pinion try to go through the warranty and pay the difference and have them send me a brand new one and they would not do it. I did not want it for free. I just wanted a new one, not a remanufactured one. I will never buy anything from Detroit axle again, bad customer service in my opinion.

My brothers 2000 Silverado rides like new. Did the work my self in my driveway, took about 6 hours (we replaced shocks also) Easy install.

Kit comes in 2 shipments, had to call CS to actully get the rack & pinion sterring actuator, another 5 to 7 buisness days. 1 bearring hub cover was damaged looked like it had been previously installed & beaten out on removal. CS TECH rep said it was cosmetic & gave me a 20$ refund. The other bearing hubs cover fell off within 3.6 miles on the way to get front end allighned. ( TECH ACCOMPLISHING FRONTEND ALLIGHNMENT FOUND THAT COVER WAS MISSING) contacted CS & asked for refund on both bearing hubs - the 20$ credit previously received. Responce was to give another 20$. .. IM STILL WAITING. The rest of 9 items in the kit seem to be well made. I REPLACED WHEEL BEARING HUBS WITH MOOG.

After one day of being installed Left lower ball joint has failed and a Week later right side has failed as well. ALL parts were installed by shop. Three trips and about $1600.00 later i finally got good quality parts from Orielly's.Please do not purchase I know from experience trying to save a couple bucks. It ended up costing me more than going to orielly's to get parts in the first place. I have tried calling them and didn't even have parts a full thirty days before they failed. Parts rec'd on 1/26/21 and fail date 02/1/21. Contacted Detroit Axel on 2/10,2/15,2/22. Stay away from Detroit Axel. Not worth the hassel.

Everything in the kit was good quality and solid part EXCEPT for the castle nuts for the tire rod ends. I had 3 strip with very little torque.
