- Move the dimming slider to the desired brightness or until the light is stable;
- Long press the SET switch until the red light flashes
- Press the SET switch again and the red indicator light stops flashing.

First, I can't believe I never knew these type of dimmers existed. I can now say that I don't think I could do without them! I have two of these for our bedroom lamps on our nightstands and they are so convenient. My husband goes to bed early and I dim my lamp to where I can see when I come into the bedroom. But it's dim enough that it doesn't disturb his sleep. I bought another brand for a lamp in the family room, but believe me, the dimmer switch on this lamp slides a lot smoother. I like this one the best. I've not ever heard any humming or seen any flickering of the lights. I highly recommend this dimmer switch. I also like the fact you can operate it with your foot. 10 out of 10.

The dimmer is probably OK with regular lights but with low wattage LEDs it didn't shut off completely. The LEDs remain lit at a very low level but not OFF. These were Patio lights in a string of 27 and a total of 3watts.

I've been trying to be funny. I finally got my medication and I don't care what I'm typing. I'll do more of these another time.Oh yeah, no these dimmer switches are imperative for mood lighting. I think the ability to adjust the intensity of the light of the room to individual taste is important. Being able to dim the lights in a room helps me.5 stars. This is one of my important pieces of tech.

I'm quite satisfied with the look and build of this product. Nice and Sturdy. Also I quite like you can place the DEWENWILS Foot Slide Plug-In Dimmer Switch on the floor. I simply use my foot to turn the Dimmer on and off and to adjust the brightness. Quite functional and easy to use. Very well made product.

I just bought a new sphere table lamp with crystal inserts and discovered that the 40-watt-equivalent LED bulb I bought for the lamp was much brighter than expected.So I looked for an outboard dimmer switch and liked the outlet-in-body layout of this one.I read some of the problems recent buyers reported having with this unit, notably that it wouldn't dim a bulb entirely or that it gave off an audible hum.Using this switch with a dimmable Sylvania LED bulb, I haven't had any such problems as I write this. The dimmer can make the lamp shut off entirely, and I don't hear any humming. I'm also not seeing the bulb flash or flicker at any brightness level.The only slight eccentricity I note is that it takes a few seconds for the bulb to return to the brightness level I had dialed up on the dimmer when I first switch the light on. Yes, the sphere lamp has an on/off switch incorporated in its power cord.I will also agree with other reviewers that the instructions about the "Set" button aren't very clear, and I'm not entirely sure what that feature is supposed to do!So this dimmer switch has worked perfectly out of the box for my application, but it may have problems with certain types or wattages of bulbs. I assume that Amazon will stand behind the product if it doesn't work as expected in your application...

A dimmer is a simple thing. It either works, doesn't work, or works sometimes. The unit I received worked for about twenty minutes, then stopped. Unplugging it and plugging it back in seemed to help for a little while but within an hour it was not working again. The LED indicated it had power, but the floor lamp would not light. Unplugging the lamp from the dimmer and instead directly into the wall worked perfectly. I should note this floor lamp has been working with dimmers for over a decade.
