Definitely not cutting your fingers off, not saying you're not going to be able to shear your fingers off. But blades that are sharp are a nonissue. But I've only had these since January 13 of this year, and the fabric is splitting. The right hand is a little bit better but it'll not be long till I have a matching set.

I finally got a chance to use these this past week while meal prepping for the week. I worked on chopping up all of the vegetables with our sharpest knife set. Perfect time to test these gloves out. I first tested these by running the blade over the fingers of the glove - prior to wearing them that is. They didn't tear. So I felt confident enough to wear them while cutting. Only slipped once and glad these were on my hands throughout. Might keep a set in the workshop for cutting jobs too, though I don't expect to use them beyond manual saw jobs. Overall pretty happy with these. Only downside is that they are water permeable - soaked through while rinsing the veggies. But still better than having nothing when handling sharp instruments.

Disclaimer: I received the product (DEX FIT Level 7 Cut Resistant Gloves SSG713 - Steel Fiber Protection, Sandy Nitrile Grip, Durable, Comfort and Dexterity, Lightweight and Thin for Precision Work, Machine Washable; Grey M (8) 3 Pairs (Medium (3 Pairs), Grey)) from Amazon's Vine Voices program in exchange for an honest review.Summary: I am disturbed by the disparity between the promised protection and the reality.Pricing Opinion: At time of receipt, it was priced at 42.49 USD for 3 pairs of gloves. I don’t know that it’s worth that after it broke its "extreme protection" promise.Pro:+Fit is insanely good!+Very maneuverable!+Grip is very strong!Con:-I put a cucumber inside and tried stabbing it with a knife, and I made several holes without applying much force. I think the max protection you should expect is from a slice or scrape that would never have severed anything, but may have lightly opened your skin.

Summary: I have been cutting trees for the past several years, and this style of cut resistant glove is cheap insurance against cuts. These are listed as "cut resistant", and the description does provide details on the "EN 388" rating. The product image does show a EN388: rating of 4X43F.Observations: I am generally a size Medium in just about every type of glove, but with this stretchy style I can go up to Large most times. I ordered these in size Medium.EN-388 DETAILS: This is a European specification. The Amazon page makes no mention of the "EN 388" marking. You can pull the EN-388 datasheet to obtain the breakdown on the rating breakdown. The breakdown on the "4X43F" which is on the product instruction, as well as printed on the glove, is listed below. The EN-388 specification for reference:Abrasion: 4Cut (Coup Test): X, Not TestedTear: 4Puncture: 3Impact Protection: FRecommendations: When buying a large pack of gloves, I take the time to inspect for quality issues (e.g. odd sizing, or defects), so that you don't run into an issue down the road. I would caution against buying such a large pack if you will not get through them all in a couple of years, because the coatings do tend to break down over time, or they end up sticking to each other. I would also pay a little more and get something level 3 (which will also have better Abrasions, Tear and Puncture resistance). Typically, the wrist area switching is colored to indicate the size, but the color on all sizes on the Amazon page are black, so probably not color coded.Pros: Fair fit & finish; finger length is nominal; DEX FIT has 35 offerings, with 23 being gloves; these also feature touchscreen capable finger tips.Cons: Cost, but higher cut levels generally cost more. Conclusion: At $43 for 3 pairs ($14.33/pair), these are at the high end of the road pricing for a glove, overall rating 4-stars (cost).
