Both check valves were defective. Luckily, I checked them out before installing on the drain line on my RO system. Avoid this seller. Very pretty junk.

I had installed a system with similar design but those didn’t have the lock rings like these and leaked after awhile.These have not leaked for a long time.

I installed this in my RO Water Purification system on the waste tube. It works great but when the water leaving falls to a trickle, the valve squeaks as the water passes through it. On the functional side, they work perfect with no leaks. I may check out a ball check valve instead.

I did not try a high pressure test and it's only been in place for a day but since it's so easy to attach and remove, I tried it both ways while I could watch the flow. It did in fact only go one way. I was a little concerned when I tried to blow air through and couldn't get it to go through either way bit it did work properly when connected and did not seem to impede the water flow in the correct direction. It comes with locking tabs that prevent the tubing from being unintentionally released.It didn't occur to me at the time to air test it with a piece of tubing.
