This works very well for what I needed it form. I actually use it to sharpen clipper blades. I haven't even bothered to attach this to a spindle yet. I've just been using it sitting on my work bench and moving the blades back and forth. A flat surface is the important part of sharpening those and this works great.

I ordered the 240 grit plate for intermediate smoothing of faced stones that have been cut and roughly shaped with 80 and 120 grit plates. This is my final plate before I move on to softer discs and this does a great job of getting all the large scratches sanded down from using the coarser grit plates. The plate worked well for me - it fit my 1/2" arbor perfectly and was nice and flat. I'm not picky about the initial consistency of the plating as this is a pretty rough grit for me and smooths out after the first stone because I'm using on relatively hard stones - jasper and agate with Moh's hardness of around 7. I start out pretty slow with about an 800-900 rpm speed and a water drip just to preserve the life of the plate. I've used similar brands and this one performs just as well as the others. Given this is a great price for a single diamond coated plate, I would definitely order again.
