I purchased this nice ukulele with the ugliest string tie job and weirdest bridge design I’ve ever seen!Not only did I not care for the strings on it, but the ugly, sloppy knots had to go. Great reasons to make the change.See the before and after pics for how much nicer it is now with the Diamond strings beads on.Very easy to do, secure and nice looking!Love this uke now. 😍

I just installed a set on one of my solid wood baritone ukuleles. When I shopped for these, I thought they were over-priced, and I went looking for craft beads to use instead, but could not find anything to square up against the tie bar, remain off of the sound board, and have a proper size hole to hold knots of varying size (so that the knot would not pull through the bead hole under tension). So, I ordered a set, and just today when I needed a string change, I used them. Upon inspection, I see why they are pricey - very precise, probably difficult to manufacture, get the dies correctly made, etc. I thought the instructions were not perfectly clear (old dog, new tricks), so I called to make sure I had the correct understanding, and Pat walked me thru the process. Once the first bead was on, easy! Obvious benefits are that the beads distribute pressure evenly across the tie-bar, and prevent the strings from digging into the wood; and they let the bridge form a better angle for the strings going up to the saddle. Not so obvious, but it's true: the strings come to pitch faster because there is not so much "give" as the typical knots allow, the sound is noticeably better because of the solid contact, and I found the intonation of the instrument to be better -probably for the same reason. I'm sold on these and will be ordering another set for my other tie-block baritone uke. Great product! Pricey, but worth every bit! Trust me, if you hate string changes because of the knots and tuning / stretch time, and if you hate the skreeching when strings are tightened at the tie block as they stretch, get these!

I’ve been using the Rosette Diamond BridgeBeads on an old Jose Ramirez, liked them, and figured I’d give it a spin on my Cordoba ukulele. At first appearance they’re underwhelming compared to the jade and bone beads I’ve used in the past. Once I got over the cheap plastic styling, I can say this product works well indeed: easy to thread the string and lock under the loop, faster to install than a traditional tie or knot, secure and no change in sound. However, the most significant improvement is the large flat gasket like design distributes the string tension across a much larger area surrounding the string hole, thereby reducing wear and abrasion.Incidentally, these ukulele BridgeBeads are exactly the same as the guitar versions. The only difference is you get two less BridgeBeads!In perfect a world the Rosette Diamond BridgeBeads would be thinner and made of rosewood rather than plastic, blending in with the instrument better. However, main negative is they're pricey but, ultimately, they work as advertised.
