I don't know about wind instruments, but it holds my guitar like a pro! I love it!!!

I have a shorter and a longer EWI and they both fit the stand. I raised the height to a medium setting and it can work for either size without needing to make an adjustment. I can also fold more compact for travel or storage without tools. Folded, with the top arms off it is about 16.5 inches by 4 inches x 3. It seems built to last and I like that it's a minimal simple stand compared to something that would take up more space or draw more attention to itself.
