Quality is pretty typical at this price point. All plastic but the dome cover is actual brushed stainless steel. Works well and as intended.

When my new dish washer was installed they reused the existing air gap drain. The new dish washer flushes too fast for the old air gap so it dumped water onto the counter. I bought this one hoping it would fix the problem.Installation was not easy as my kitchen has old cabinets with styles that gets in the way. Once I installed I've had no problems at all. And I saved $$$'s.The local big box hardware stores didn't even have it in stock. Amazon came through again.

Fine looking well made product. Excellent price compared to similar products. Fit perfect as a replacement. Drains well. No complaints.

Is pretty! and far better looking then the leaky old plastic chrome one originally installed. I have a double sink so its installed behind the sink and a total POS to get to. If your less then flexible, have less then an 8 foot arm span, and working alone, make install easy on yourself. Unscrew the plastic nut from the top and push the old stuff down. That gave me easier access to the plumbing parts. Set the bottom plastic nut on the new piece to about the same depth as the old. Move the plumbing over to the new part. Run a string or wire down from the top side of the sink, and tie it to the top of the new plastic piece, and just pull it back up through the hole.

I was looking specifically for a unit that had a black gasket as this one does. Though my sink is white, the white gaskets eventually become fouled by stains and mildew that cannot be removed. So you go through that long phase of it showing some spots that you work to clean repeatedly but they keep coming back stronger and more extensive. I've never been able to locate a source of replacement gaskets. At least with black the staining won't be staring back at you continuously. The brushed nickel finish on this unit matches our Pfister faucet perfectly. It comes with good instructions. And while it is probably inconsequential, the box says it has a limited lifetime guaranty though the Amazon listing states 5 years.

I replaced my old corroded Delta dishwasher vent while installing a new kitchen faucet. This vent was easy to install and looks beautiful but it’s pretty noisy when draining. For years I could never tell if my dishwasher was running unless I looked for the red light on the floor, a Bosch feature. Well not anymore, I can hear this vent 50 feet away with the TV on. Something I never considered when replacing my old one.

The installation is simple. I got a titanium step bit off amazon for about the same price as this air gap, punched a hole in the stainless steel sink, and threaded the nut on. Then, I clamped two hoses. Finished.Or was I?I allowed the dishwasher to fill for a minute, then cancelled the cycle to test draining as instructed in the manual. When I did, my counter top flooded.I did it again a few more times adjusting the hoses thinking maybe it was a problem with gravity or siphoning. That didn't help. Then, I popped the cap off and tried again. I immediately realized what was wrong. The inner tube coming from the dishwasher points straight up at a rectangular box shaped piece that "SHOULD" defect the water back down and into the drain. IT DOES NOT.Imagine the box this product will come in from amazon. You open the tape on the top and have 4 flaps. Rip those off. Now, rip one of the sides off so you have a 3-sided box with a bottom. Now flip it upside down. That's what deflects the water down.If the flaw in that design isn't apparent, let me elaborate. When the high pressure stream of waste water hits the bottom of the box, it splashes with force in all directions--including the side of the box that's missing. It then hits the side of the air gap and, unsurprisingly, sprays in all directions again. One of those directions is up--and out of the air gap.If you have an old dishwasher that takes forever to drain, this will probably work fine. My fancy new LG dishwasher on the otherhand shoots water almost to the ceiling when I remove this 3-sided deflection cap. The poor design could have been easily corrected if there was a "U" shaped piece to slip onto the tube. Currently, I have the whole thing wrapped in duct tape until I can fix it. I'll probably 3d print a "U" shaped piece and see how that goes. If it works, you'll be able to find it on thingiverse by searching for Design House 522946 Dish Washer Air Gap Defector,

Nice quality part at a good price, however, it does not include all of the parts you need to install it. You probably have the drain hose from your dishwasher but you will need a short (depending on your installation) piece of '" ID plastic tubing and two hose clamps to connect from this to your disposal. Compared to other air gaps I've seen, this is a fibrous resin part that should be tougher than just plastic. Be sure to note the decorative cap pops off the lock nut; don't do like I did and screw the metal cap tight. I stripped it but it still fastened nice and tight. To be extra safe, as with all hose connections that may be under pressure, look for a stainless-steel wrapped tubing to prevent possible bursting. I couldn't find it in my area but the thick hose I did find isn't going anywhere soon. Works well, looks nice, and you can't beat the price for the construction. Good luck! Oh, it's easy. You can do it yourself. Just be patient. Use a little liquid soap if the hose is too tight to slide on.
