Use a wet cotton cloth to wipe the probe and probe rod before use.
Do not wipe off the water, and use it directly.
Insert it diagonally upward to avoid hurting the dog.
Clean the probe and probe rod thoroughly after use.

You will get readings that are 400-500 apart on the same testing. Unreliable for sure.

I breed Pomeranians and they do have some "wierd" seasons like in/out/in again, or no blood at all some times. I use this for all my breedings and it rarely misses! After using it every time for my breeding I get the feel of when it would be the perfect timing for breeding which allows me better guess at the due dates as well. Love it since I have no close access to the vet who does daily progesterone tests/results, and I didn't have to go to the vet for progesterone check ever since I use this machine. Totally reliable in my opinion when you get to know how to read your girls' numbers!!
