This door access control keypad is really affordable with a current price of only $11.90. It comes with 5 RFID keychain fobs but you can also create your own as well. The instructions aren't that great IMO, so I wouldn't recommend this if you aren't very familiar with electronics or if you don't DIY stuff like this regularly. It took me a while to figure it out but I got it working and was able to create an access control system for our server/network closet at my business. Very happy with it so far!

This keypad has good circuity but the case is rather thin and the mounting is not very sturdyOne good hit with a hammer and it will knock the keypad off the mounts giving you access to the wiring to connect the pins to open whatever you are hidingI would also not use this outside (its not weather proof, no IP listed)Maybe for internal door to keep out people from low value assets

I haven't had a chance to use this yet, but it looks to be well built and sleek looking.Looking forward to building a gate lock that can be opened with a code, or the RF id tags.Comes with key fobs so that your ready to go.

First, this is not secure. A philips screwdriver will open it from the bottom, and two wires connected to cause it to open. A strong magnet will activate the relay without unscrewing it at all. This is not meant for anything you wish to protect from real threats. However, if you're just controlling access to low value items, or in settings where the major threats are already screened out, or from children and curious individuals this works great. This can be set to allow keyfob or PIN access, or it can be set to allow entry once the keyfob AND pin have been entered. You can have multiple users, each with their individual pin, and they can change their pin without your involvement, which is a nice feature not always available in these lower cost keypads. The programming password is in the manual, is 6 digits long, and can be changed. It can also be reset back to the factory default. The light and beeper provide adequate feedback about the status of the device, rejection or acceptance, and programming mode status. It's not well sealed from the elements, so don't plan on using it outside for long - it'll eventually fail. If you add sealant and perhaps seal the keypad better it might last awhile, but this was clearly designed for indoor use.The included 5 keyfobs worked quickly once added via the programming mode.It outputs a normally closed and normally open relay, so you can use it for door strikes (active when needing to be opened) or for door magnets (active when needing to be closed). It includes an "open" input which, when connected to ground, makes it act as if a valid pin or keyfob were used. It's not clear what the push input/output is for, and the manual simply shows connecting that pin to a screw terminal of a device that's not included. Also, this works on 9V in case that's useful for your situation.

I'm very satisfied. Beginner instructions would be helpful. The package included a clear wiring diagram and instructions. I connected it to my power supply and meter in under a minute. I used the meter in continuity mode between the common and NO pins of the "relay out". After programming one of the fobs, the meter beeped with each swipe. It's important to note that the device has a default programming password and each fob needs to be enabled before use.

It came with a detailed, clear wiring diagram and instructions. I was able to hook it up to my power supply and meter in about a minute - I put the meter in continuity mode across the common and NO pins of the "relay out". After programming one of the fobs, I was able to elicit a beep from the meter every time I swiped. Note: The thing comes programmed only with a default programming password - you'll have to "enable" each fob before use - they don't work out of the box. I'm quite happy with this so far, and am very impressed given it sells for about $15.

I was looking to add a keypad to an OLD garage door opener. This one worked. It requires a 12 volt drop and I had to do some tinkering to get it to work but it does and works well. I am very pleased. Some additional directions would be helpful for those who don't do this sort of thing for fun...
