this is cheap poorly made it broke off within the first month of it being replaced. all i did is touch it and it fell right off.

The old one was made of pot metal and this one probably is too. But, it's a perfect fit. I know why it broke, the latch was off a bit and you had to shut it hard sometimes. My advice, don't do it or you'll break the latch. I adjusted the new latch and it's "like butter." So, given that it's still made of pot metal (so I couldn't weld the old one), the new one is perfect as long as I treat it right.

These latches will only open about 1/3 of travel. Barely even enough to get your fingers under. I purchased 3 and they're all the same.

This is the exact replacement, but I have replaced both of them twice in 4 years. I wish someone would build a better one.
