Got these low cost vintage style tuners for a new build. They work pretty well. Great for the price.

Why is there 4 end tuners and 2 middle ? I saw a lot of reviews stating this but thought I’d give it a try! Was I wrong!!! I can’t believe these make it out the factory.I am going to prevail and simply file away the excess metal to make them fit. But I shouldn’t have to!

I like vintage-style tuners. I believe that non-locking tuners like these can stay in tune if the rest of the guitar is set up properly. While I haven't yet mounted them, they seem to be of good quality - smooth turning, no jiggle. No chips in the finish, and nice traditional decorative lines in the metal. Can't wait to see them in the guitar when it's finished!

These look good but they are a bear to get to stay in tune, the inner gears feel like they are grinding on each other when you turn the paddle. Once the strings are stretched out and you have the tuners kind of ground into place, they will hold a tune but, spend the extra 5 or 10 bucks for something better because I cant see these lasting long at all.

Dropped right in as replacement screws were just a little small for the hole

Ordered a set for a Squier Stratocaster I recently bought with the intention of modding to high heaven... I've played for over 25 years, but I've only recently began to work on my guitars, so I'm a newbie when it comes to mods, but even so, these tuners were not hard to install at all... I was hoping they would drop right in without having to drill new holes, but that wasn't the case... I did have to drill new holes but I'm honestly glad I did, because now I know how to do it... I bought a nice little drill for $25 (at WallyWorld), and a 3 pack of 5/64 bits... I just used a straight edge (block of wood, lol) to line up the tuners, marked where the holes should be with a felt pen, then I "started" the holes with a small Phillips screwdriver, and drilled them... Don't forget to mark your drill bit with a piece of painter's tape or something so you don't drill through your headstock! All told, it only took about 10 minutes and they were in... They're smooth, sturdy, and hold tune very well... Very good value for under 20 bucks... As a matter of fact, I'm gonna order another set for my main guitar...

These tuners do their job. They hold their tune. For my project, I was swapping out the tuners on my 70’s Vintage Modified strat. The tuners themselves a quite a bit harder to turn than the stock tuners but thats not that big of an issue to me. The only big issue that came about was the bushings that came with this set were just a fragment to large. At first I was going to buy a reamer to make the hole a little bigger but then figured painting and coating the stock bushings black would be better than altering headstock. Went ahead and did that, but the supplies cost me about $10. Didnt plan on putting that much work into this guitar but other than that, they make my guitar look much more appealing.
