My 2002 Pasaat is my work car. Driver window wouldnt go all the way up. Body shop said $350 parts and labor. Not sure the part cost verse labor, but I didnt want to pay it. Found this part on Amazon for $57 and thought I'd give it a try and do it myself. I was worried it wouldnt be formed correctly or be missing holes. Turned out to be a perfect OEM match. Went in great with a form fit and works perfect.Even the grommets and the speaker fit perfect, which sometimes doesnt happen with cheaper aftermarket parts.Couple of install items....there is a plastic part that aligns into the door catch that is installed on the original that is held by plastic rivets. I had to find a couple small bolts and grind off the ends to reinstall it on this part. Also, the speaker is basically the same issue with metal rivets that I had to grind off and reinstall on this with new rivets. Iam pretty handy so this was no big deal for me, but If youre not, I could see having an issue with these 2 items.

The regulator in my son's 2003 VW Passat broke in two. Thankfully he caught the window. We called several auto parts store in the area and the cheapest replacement we found was $94 and some change and this was just for the kit. This item is the entire insert and took less than 30 minutes to install!!!!!!!!!! The window not going all the way down problem wasn't bad for us. It's up maybe 1/2" at the back, which is fine with the money and time we saved with this insert! Also I saw where someone said they had to drill new holes for speakers? Maybe they got the wrong year or make? Everything was where it was supposed to be on ours and was truly plug and play!

Perfect fit & function of Dorman 740-368 on my 2002 Passat drivers side door. Even though it costs 2-3x more, I would strongly suggest buying this complete unit (about $50) vs just the replacement cable (for as little as $15), as chances are you will find that a plastic pulley (or 2 or more!) broke off AND the gear that attaches to the electric motor has become damaged - so the repair will require more than just a new cable. When I took off my door panel I found that my window mechanism had 2 broken pulleys + the gear on the window motor was all buggered up and stripped. This complete assembly includes all new such components in "plug & play" replacement set up. It took about 2 hours (but i took my time and had to go buy the 4 small bolts/nuts to re-attach the speaker) to complete this project. There are some very good youtube videos to guide you step-by-step.

A dealer repair + product for this regulator would have bankrupted me! It took some elbow grease and a few hours of finagling, but the hardest part of installing this all-in-one part the way it is made is getting the old panel out. Once the old one is out, this one is a PERFECT fit. There is no indication that it isn't OEM. Everything works like a brand new window! Very pleased with my decision to go with this aftermarket regulator!

nice replacement with the window regulator attached to the panel...the only nit pick was transferring the speaker over from the old panel...had trouble getting all four pop rivets into the holes, so just went with three. Also the gasket around the panel is quite a bit thicker so some of the bolts that you have to transfer over will not start because they are to far off the hole...found some longer bolts to cinch it down a little then started the shorter bolts

I bought my 1999 Passat a couple of weeks ago and none of the windows worked. Part of the issue was just a blown 15 amp fuse. Three bigger issue was that a previous owner decided the best way to deal with a busted regulator was to bend and Mickey Mouse old regulator parts to hold the window in place. I mean, who really uses the driver door anyway? This regulator shipped fast, with clear installation instructions. It lines up in the door pretty good, but we did have to tap it in in a couple of places at the bottom. Works like new now. Took about an hour to install, but we're slow and lazy.

I have a 2004 Volkswagon Passot 1.8TL and as all of you VW owners know the parts are expensive! One day I was rolling down my window when I heard a loud pop and then could not roll the window back up but I could here the motor struggling to try. I had a glass company come look at it and they said it was the window regulator and that they could replace it for about $300, $200 or so was for the part alone. I looked at some of the auto dismantlers and it was still going to be $100 for the part which ofcourse would be used and for quite some time on the ones I found. I found the Dorman, new on amazon for about $85 all together including shipping and handling which is a great deal. We were able to look up instructions online and replace it ourselves, it is a little work but it can definitly be a do it yourself project. This was a few weeks ago and so far it works great and I have had no problems. If another one of my windows has the same issue then I will get a Dorman from amazon again and I reccommend that others do the same.
