Tend to go with Dorman for good quality/long life. Surprisingly, the first one I received wouldn't unlatch but the replacement works like a charm.The latch itself is easy to install. Check YouTube for tutorials on how to remove the trunk lid lining (the plastic tabs remove by prying the center portion out and then the outer ring pulls out). After that it's just unscrewing the old one and screwing the new one in after connecting the power/control jack. NOTE: this one does not have the emergency pull cable - which seems to be out of stock throughout the US - but it doesn't need it to operate.

Pleased with this truck lock but the holes that are used for the screws were not threaded. This would not work for some people. You could used self-threading screws. I happened to have a tap of the right size and has able to threat the holes. I suspect most people would not have a tap. But they can be bought, usually at a hardware store. The actuator has been installed for several months and working fine.

It wasn't any cheaper than autoshack but I chose the amazon option because I knew there wouldn't be an issue with shipping. The self tapping screw thing was kinda dumb but I got over it.product worked flawless for six months.

Perfect replacement for my 2005 E46 BMW. The original actuator on the vehicle was still functional, but I was unaware that I had a broken wire going to the unit that made it nonoperational (check the wires feeding into the trunk if your actuator stops working) and once the wiring was repaired this Dorman unit worked just like it was supposed to. The unit comes with a set of instructions so be sure to read and follow them for a painless installation process.
