Very thin material, not like OEM butt caps for ocean rods. It should work okay but I have a feeling I will need to replace often. I purchased the 4-pk so I do have extras available.

These were a little big for the rod butt which was not an issue I just seated it with some rtv sealant which helped to secure them.

Mostly pier fish so my rods end up leaning on the rail while the butt of my rods are worn down by the concrete or wood surface of the pier. Good silicone material and fits well as long as you order the correct size for your fishing rods. Added this cushion on my cork handle rods as well as my foam handle rods that do not have the manufacturers built on rubber butt end caps. Excellent with a single drain hole on the bottom to let water out of cushion if necessary. Get out there and catch a fish.

These work great for balancing if your setup is tip heavy. Quarters or 3/8" washers fit inside perfectly. These fit on all four of my spinning rods.
