After getting a set of Red Devils to try on one of my basses, I kinda *HAD* to get a set for the guitar. I'm a big DR Black Beauties fan and on the bass and the guitar I can't really tell a FEEL difference between them and the red devils. I look forward to all the beau... well the mus.... the noise I'm gonna be makin :D

Exactly what you're looking for! I've run all kinds of DR strings on both basses and guitars, and these ones are no exception to DRs quality!

Meh. They look neat but the coating chips away and they never seem to feel slick, no matter how much string lube you apply. They have a pleasant, warm tone, but it's inconsistent from string to string.Elixir Polywebs are way way WAY better.

I was a little trepidatious in trying these: first I had never used a coated guitar string that I liked and secondly, didn't know if the coating would even be the color described, so a double loss. I am pleased to say that 1. the strings are beautifully finished with a perfect bright red; 2. they sound exactly like my regular non-coated steel strings; 3. they feel smooth enough on my fingers, but still react just like non-coated strings. I will be buying these again. For anyone interested, these went on my 1984 Telecaster Custom Deluxe (dual switchable single coil/humbuckers). Huge Plus: MADE IN USA!

We ordered DR Strings Red Devils - Extra-Life. We received DR Strings Red Devils - NOT Extra-Life. Unfortunately we did not realize this until my 14yo had the package opened, 5 strings on, and the 6th string broken. In many years of Amazon purchases, this is my first bad experience, but I am quite disappointed that they shipped me an inferior product in place of the product I ordered. I'll be checking future purchases more carefully before opening packages.

What can I say, I love them, and the neons too. I can't wait until they come out with red neons. That would leave me legless and in complete ecstasy. A lot of people get on here and talk all this crap about these strings and those strings and one is better than the other. I'm here to tell you that may be a valid point to a lot of people. Not me! I run so much gain in my setup It don't matter what strings I put on, they will all melt your face off, break windows, and peel paint off the walls. The great thing about these is they look cool, and another thing is I don't have to change them every 3 or 4 days especially in the summer when the humidity is up due to them going to S#%T on me, These last longer so they are worth the extra cheese in my opinion.

Don't let the flashy color fool you. I have been playing guitar for almost twenty years and these strings are on par with the best that are out there. I have several guitars and these are the only ones I put on my charcoal colored Parker. Good tone and they have a long life. Comparable quality to the most expensive coated strings on the market.

I put these on my Gibson Dark Fire (Flame Red Maple Finish) with an Ebony Fretboard for a Show. They look so sweet and sounded very good. The Area where the Pick hits the Red Starts to wear off especially on the 2 High Strings, but it is only noticeable from close and your hand is generally covering up that are anyways.
