The sleek silver finish and one-dial simplicity of the front of this radio/Bluetooth speaker make it reminiscent of a radio someone might have had in the bedroom, kitchen or living room in the 1960s. And, it offers very good FM and decent AM radio reception as well as balanced, full-range audio and a useful, easy-to-use sleep function.Designed as a tabletop radio as much so as a portable, you can plug this radio in with the included AC adapter and never need any batteries at all. Good for someone who plans to use it in the kitchen, bedroom or other stationary location. However, for anyone who plans to carry it around more, there is an integral handle built into the back of the cabinet to make it easier to hold on to, and you can also power it with four C-size batteries.FM radio reception is very good, with sensitive/selective tuning that brings in lots of stations and lets you listen even to weaker stations between stronger ones. The large front mounted tuning knob makes it easy to find what you're looking for, too. AM reception is fair to good. It's admirably clean and quiet on AM, so local and regional stations come in just fine, but it is not as capable as some other radios I've used at bringing in more distant AM stations during the day. But like most AM radios it does receive far away stations at night. The unit also paired up quickly with my phone and works well as a Bluetooth speaker, giving access to any audio that can be streamed online.Sound quality is a plus. The audio gets quite loud without distortion, and there is a balanced quality to the sound. You don't get window-rattling bass, but there is a pleasant fullness to the sound much as table radios used to provide back in the days when you had to wait for the tubes to warm up. Ideal for both voice and music listening. One of the nicer extras of this radio is the useful sleep function. Controlled by the power button at the center of the top of the radio, you simply push the button once to turn on the radio, and then once, twice or three times more if you want to set the sleep timer for 1/2 hour, 1 hour or 2 hours. Very intuitive and easy to operate, making this radio especially good for the bedside. You can turn it on and off as well as set the sleep timer by feel alone.I admire the handsome styling of this radio/speaker and I'm glad it also offers worthy audio performance. Highly recommended.

Pros:-Has good FM reception.-Has 3 setting sleep timer.-Has large and very smooth turning tuning knob.-Has integrated grip indentation for portability.-Has headphone jack.-Speaker is not tinny.-Has fairly good feet, sits flatly, without wobble.Neutral-Uses standard C type batteries. AA or D would be preferable.-Supports Bluetooth. Some will use it, some will not.Cons:-Has mediocre AM reception.-Antenna should be longer.-Powered by wallwart with barrel plug instead of USB C.There is much to like about this radio, but there are a few things that could be improved upon.First of all, the tuning knob is large and is very smooth to turn. This makes tuning the radio a pleasure, rather than a pain, like it is with some other radios I've tested. The FM tuner is quite good on this radio, however, the antenna is shorter than it should be, so reception can still be somewhat artificially limited in rural areas. With a longer antenna, this radio could be a real FM performer. While the FM tuner is good on this radio, the AM reception is mediocre at best, which is very typical of modern Chinese produced radios. AM reception seems to be an afterthought in the minds of Chinese radio engineers. The speaker on this radio is pretty good for a budget radio, but it is a tad bass heavy, a bit muffled and can be slightly muddy. I think the reason they chose to make this radio this way is because it is designed to go to sleep by and you would not want any shrillness or brightness in the audio to go to sleep by.That said, the speaker does have a good volume range to it. It can go from very quiet, which is important to go to sleep by, to very loud and room filling, without distortion, and without case resonance. My biggest qualm with this radio is how it's powered. If you plug it in, it uses a wallwart with a barrel type plug, rather than a standard USB C, and if you use batteries, it uses 4 "C" type batteries, the hardest to find battery of the common battery types. It would have been much preferable to have had this radio powered by USB C and to use either 4 AA or D batteries, which are much more common and easier to obtain during an emergency situation. This would have made it a much better emergency radio. Also, if it were powered via USB C, you could even use a power bank to power it, which again, would be preferable in an emergency situation.Overall, I would say that this radio is a good buy at its current selling price of $25.19, but if it gets much more expensive than this, there are many other options out there worth consideration.

This radio has a nice speaker integrated into it, it's easy to operate and has a very sensitive turner on board. I added it to my living room and really enjoyed being able to listen to terrestrial radio again in my home. The speaker as a nice warm sound. But it's more versatile than being stuck to your house. There's also a battery operated function, and I would always recommend grabbing some USB-C rechargeable batteries for it - guilt free portability. This would be great for boat or shore fishing too, especially if you want to tether bluetooth and play your own songs. Honestly this radio would work great in any room.
