The angle that sit when clamped on is tilting the wrong direction, you can turn them a 180 degrees and it helps some but then your threaded shafts is sticking outside your boat, I bought them because they said they where for a gunnels of a standard John boat, so I figured they would be a perfect fix for my boat,I have many driftmaster products because of there great quality, but they dropped the ball on this one.
