Have some tempered 4130, it's 40 HRC at most with heat treatment and 500° temper. 3/16 bit chipped the tip off, and the 1/8" snapped both while drilling with oil. Don't buy Chinese junk.

Tried on some stainless, not sure what grade, just a scrap. Drilled through nicely, clean holes. They come individually packaged in small rectangular plastic boxes like router bits. They are kinda short, not more than 2+ inches. Long enough for most stock but not for deep holes. They are nicely machined and sizes are accurate. Can't speak to their lifetime, but they seem tough enough to last a while. Not exactly cheap but not premium price either - so guess that gives a rough idea on how long they will stay sharp and drill clean.

Had a hardened bolt broken off. Tried several other drill bits and not one would touch it till these. These cut through it like it was butter. Long spirals coming off like it was soft metal. Ordered a few more sets to have on hand.

These are relatively short bits, with the cutting length about an inch on them and the overall length ranging from about an 1.5 to 2.5 inches. They're made out of solid carbide which is a great cutting material although it can be a little bit brittle. So I found that it will cut through most metals pretty easily with steady pressure, but you have to be careful not to use a lot of lateral force so they don't break. You do pay a premium for these bits so I would never use them on a day to day basis. When you do need that extra cutting ability then these are great for that. I'm not familiar with the brand name but the bits are good. They're packaged in plastic cases and I'd get them again.

This review is for the HOYUSK "Drill Bit Set 4 Pcs Solid Carbide Drill Bits, 1/8" 1/4" 1/16" 3/16" Tungsten Carbide Drill Bits".These drill bits seem to be very finely machined and have a nice finish quality. The larger three came in neat little square plastic individual drill bit cases, and the 1/16'' bit came in a little plastic 'needle case' style pack with room for several more bits in it.I drilled some 1/4'' holes in a stainless steel pot and it was no problem, the drill bit still looked brand new afterwards. The shape of the tip of these bits is not very bite-y (this is neither good nor bad imo, just describing it), so moderate pressure was needed to get the initial hole going.Overall, these drill bits seem to be fine quality tools and I expect to be able to use them for many years.

I tested these on a stainless steel plate, but the small bit broke into two pieces, likely due to my rough handling at the start. The 1/4-inch bit performed quite well when I used it more gently. The quality is above average compared to typical drill bits, though the price is on the higher side.
