I was hesitant to buy the plates because of negative reviews. The plates arrived is great condition. Nothing major to ship them back. Exactly what I was looking for. They look simple but elegant. Just what I was looking for. I have not tested them in dishwasher yet, but they look more durable than the clear tableware I bought from Ikea.

Nice well weighted plate. Durable and crystal clear. I’ve been using these for a year now and they aren’t all scratched up like other plates I’ve had and I’m yet to chip one. Machine washable, affordable, durable, and attractive, what more could you ask for?!

Wanted an uncoated/unfinished glass plate set. These products from Duralex are great. Would order again, may need to round out my dinnerware with all glass.

These are very nice looking plates and an ideal size. I not only serve on them but also cut vegetables on them as I don't like using a cutting board.

Had these a few weeks now and they are really good quality . They wash really well either by hand or in a dishwasher. They don't scratch or at least they haven't as yet . I would definitely buy more. Highly recommend.

Replacement for similar plates purchased years ago for everyday use. Classic, simple design allows it to be used for casual or more formal dining. Also purchased the dinner plates. Both sets arrived securely packaged. Any imperfections quite minor, if any, and similar to glass handmade or blown; add to the beauty and quality of the plates. Tip: remove labels easily with vegetable oil. Oil will break the bond (Chem 101!) Just apply a few drops; let sit for 15-20 minutes, longer if needed. I used about 4 teaspoons per set. I use this technique also on plastic items such as RX bottles and food containers. I have used oil-based body lotions, too, but take longer to work. Ain't science grand (thanks, Ms. K, wherever you are)?

Good size for a dessert plate but a bit small for a luncheon plate, which is what I wanted. So I had to return and look for something else.I expect the plates are durable and high quality, since I have had Duralex glass tumblers for many years, which is why I gave 4 stars.

The plates looked fine until we removed the plastic lining around the set. One of the dishes had an edge with gray bubbles on top. I called Amazon customer service from their contact page where you type in your number and they call you right back. They had a P.O. label sent to my email address so that I didn't have to pay for return shipping and had the new plates to us by Monday. No problem with the new plates. The plates are simple but elegantly so. We like the fact that there is no glaze on these plates so there is no chance of any chemicals leaching into any food. These are the smaller, dessert plates.Update - Feb. 18, 2014 - I have 3 different Duralex products. One of them is called a Paris plate that is not sold on Amazon so I ordered a set directly from Duralex USA. One of the beautiful Paris dishes completely cracked up in my dishwasher. I no longer consider Duralex products dishwasher safe. I cleaned out as much of the glass pieces as possible but some of the pieces still got into the motor of our dishwasher. We had to replace the dishwasher. I called Duralex USA and they still claimed that their dishes were dishwasher safe but sent me an email to explain that their products can break "if it sustains a mechanical shock". Here is the excerpt from their email to me "Tempered glass is made up of many thin layers of toughened glass. The reason it is so strong is that the molecules are packed in tight together and basically seared in with heat. Like all glass, tempered glass can break. If a small chip or hairline fracture exists in tempered glass and the glass sustains a mechanical shock, it has the potential to shatter. Due to the many layers, it takes time for the impact to make its way through each layer which gives the impression of a delayed reaction. When tempered glass does break because of the many layers, it shatters into small bits that are rounded in shape, often with relatively smooth edges."They still claim they are dishwasher safe but I do not. I wash all of my Duralex products by hand. They did send me a new set of Paris dishes (6) to replace the one that broke. Still love the product and dishes but I do not consider them dishwasher safe.
