I’ve owned one of these before. It works great with my Kyosho Inferno MP9. It works so well that it was stolen from me!

I purchased this to go with a couple OFNA/ HoBao nitro sprint cars. It was really apparent that I needed to remove the rear alignment pins for the starter wheel to engage the engine flywheel, which is no big deal. The box I got did have some smoke come out on the first try and didn't seem to have a lot of power to turn the engine over. Increasing the cell count I was able to get it to function, for a while. At last it let out some more smoke and it turned out that the drive motor had a brush that was no longer connected (the brushes are supported by leaf springs, and one of them had broken and the broken end of the leaf was contacting the armature!). A replacement 775 motor from Amazon solved both issues of smoke/not working and insufficient power to turn over the engine. After using it a few times it seems the rubber drive wheel is wearing though. The Dynamite .21 XP in one of my cars has a lot of compression so it doesn't always turn over when the box engages, thus wearing the wheel quickly. I'm not sure if the rubber wheel is replaceable yet; I have not seen a replacement listed so far. But, the box works for the time being.

Got this for my Losi 8 RTR. At first I had to do the setup for it to fit my car, I was able to but the flywheel does not have much bite on the starter wheel in the bumpbox. So I had to go to the hardware store to get longer screws and shims for the bumpbox motor assembly. I had to raise the motor assembly of the bumpbox to get about a millimeter or two of height for better bite. It did the trick, now it works flawlessly. Be ready for modifications if you are getting this.

It fits my Ofna 4x4 buggy. I originally said that it didn't work. I made a mistake in operating it and it works fine.

So the packaging sucks, look carefully for all components shake the starter box if needed. For 8ight rtr you can leave the front alignment plate on, remove center support, remove rear alignment plate. Remove the alignment pins from rear plate, remove screw from center of the slider, I flipped the sliders upside down then put the alignment pins directly into the back of the sliders so it would tighten down and it now works perfectly.

Doesnt work for vintage buggies at least not mine. Starter wheel doesnt raise up high enough to touch flywheel.
