The Easy Finisher has a round carbide cutter that is perfect for doing the inside work on smaller bowls and for larger coves on spindle work. The Full Size Finisher is designed to be used with the tool rest set so when the tool is held level the top of the cutter is in line with the center of the workpiece. The design of the Easy Finisher allows effortless cuts from the center of a bowl out to the rim OR from the rim to the center! All without changing any angles whatsoever. You just stand in one spot and cut coming and going until you get the shape you want. This simple approach to turning allows you to learn and master wood turning in no time. It comes loaded with one round cutter Ci0 carbide cutter. When it gets dull, you loosen the screw, rotate the cutter a quarter turn for a sharp, fresh cut. You will never need to perform complicated sharpening procedures again! The round cutter is specially designed with the optimal grind, geometry and grade of carbide to excel at woodturning. Super hard Maple handle is 16 inches long with easy grip handle. Solid CNC machined stainless steel tool bar is 8.5 inches long and 1/2 inch square square. Loving the carbide after using steel tool. Haven't needed to replace carbide, and I can just rotate the same insert to get a new edge

I’ve been woodturning, mostly bowls, for 3 years. Always had trouble getting the insides of my bowls smooth and divot free. With this tool I was able to shave 30minutes off each bowl, get to sanding much quicker…..well worth it, just wish I had bought one before. Tool is well made.

I was shown this tool at a woodturners organization. It works great. Has a carbide replaceable cutterhead. Very well made. Not for the beginner.

I’m a newcomer to woodturning, and while I do have a set of traditional steel turning tools (purchased at a garage sale) I’m a big fan of carbide. While individual high speed steel tools can do some things faster and better than carbide (it’s hard to beat a roughing chisel for turning square stock round) it’s also impressive what you can do with just four carbide tools- and I don’t need to invest several hundred dollars in a new grinder and wheel or other sharpening system. There are a lot of cheap import carbide tool on the market now that should be avoided and just a handful of good ones, of which Easy Wood Turning is the original. If you wanted to turn bowls, platters, and weed pots, and could only have one tool, this tool and a few grits of sandpaper could probably do it all.

I'm a self taught wood turner. I have made my own turning tools, and also own the cheap(15$) and expensive(200$) ones. I have some of the most expensive and reliable sharpening systems and jigs. With all that said, I hate sharpening my chisels. Yes I know how to do it right, when my 200$ bowl gouge comes off the sharpener I know it's going to serve me for many hours of turning before needing resharpening. I just don't have the time.Most of the YouTube turners may show you how to use traditional turning tools, but most of them at some point pull these out for quick and high quality work.My advice, if you don't care about the prestige and nostalgia of using traditional tools, and don't want to have to buy a lot of expensive sharpening equipment then go with this. I suggest getting all three: detailer, finisher, and a rougher.1 star off, as i dont personally care for the handle too much, it's more of a personal preference.

I am returning to turning after a very long time away. One of the reasons I've been away from it for so long is the difficulty I've had with conventional turning tools. The Easy Finisher is the answer to my prayers! I haven't had a chance to really use it but so far it is great. The tool is exquisitely made and easy to use. I'm very pleased with it.

I use bamboo parquet countertop material to turn bowls up to 12" x 4 1/2". Bamboo is extremely hard wood (technically it is a grass) and the countertop material, since it is built up into multi-layer squares, is even harder because of the internal glue joints.Because of this normal high speed stainless steel (HSS) turning tools are virtually useless for me. I could actually feel my original set of HSS tools getting duller as I used them. But the EasyWood carbide tipped tools cut the material with ease. And they do not seem to get dull (although I'm sure they will over time.)Not only do the tools cut well, but they are very high quality. The shanks are square stainless steel bar stock; the square shape means it is easy to hold the tool steady on the tool rest. The handles are long, very well finished, and just the right size for easy gripping. And of course the carbide cutters are very sharp and robust.I can see no reason to use any other kind of turning tool.

I purchased this through Amazon after buying the Easy Rougher from Woodcraft. The tool is beautiful and the quality is excellent. I was able to teach myself how to make pens and turn bowls by watching some you tube videos and playing around with this tool. They are pricey and I would not have bought this sight unseen. Fortunately I was able to try the first one at a store.Aside from cost, the only disadvantage I see to the carbide tools is most of the books and videos use traditional turning tools. However, carbide seems to be catching on with wood turners and you can find videos at Easy Wood Tools and you tube.I give this 5 stars because I can't stop smiling when I use it. The wood shavings just pile up!

Im also still putting together a sharpeing system and I like the carbide tipped tools that alot of people are making these days. Its not too heavy but has a good heft to it and feels good. It can be used in quite a few different cuts. Ive noticed some torn grain here and there that wouldnt have been there with a sharp gouge. Its not the one and only tool youll ever need but it is a good addition to your toolrack. Lets face it some of the high quality gouges are in the same price range.
