I’d ordered this to place in my garden this year, and when I went to carefully remove the globe for winter discovered a split in the neck where the globe inserts into the stand. I thought that was odd because I’ve not had that happen before, and compared the globe to others I own: the thickness of the glass and globe itself is -much thinner- than the others in my garden. Just not as sturdy.Since the crack had broken part of the neck, I can’t use it again by that method of display. I’ll see if I can repair well enough to use it as a simple globe with a low base.

Love the beautiful globe on its own. But it is most spectacular when the sunlight hits it and reflects multicolored dots of light all over.
