Increasingly difficult for my kids (7th and 4th graders) to open the top container. Adults and high schooler can still open the top but we didn’t buy it for them. Also very bulky for regular size lunchbox

Love it! I carry this everywhere with me! It's exactly what I wanted! Easy to open and close and not too heavy either! Perfect! Thanks :)

This lunchbox has worked perfectly for me. I was looking for something that would eliminate my need to use plastic sandwich bags. In the past, I tried different plastic containers, but it always seemed the size was not right, or I would lose the lids. This lunchbox has been a real solution. The size is perfect. It all hooks together, so it is easy to find all of the parts. It doesn't leak much. I have taken soup in it several times, and if you toss it around and leave it laying on its side, it will leak . . .a little. But, if it remains upright (which, for me, it always does because it fits perfectly in my lunch bag) it won't leak at all. Obviously, if you like to microwave your food, this may not be your solution, but otherwise, I think this product is absolutely perfect!

Still using this all this time later and still liking it a lot. The ONLY issue is that it leaks if you have any liquid at all, even a few drops, and it isn't kept upright. Still, I bring it to work almost every day and it encourages me to bring a few different foods.

i'm a big fan of ecolunchbox gear, started using them for transporting my kid's food a few years ago & was so impressed i had to get a few for myself as well, which leads me to the tri-bento... rather than just a packed lunch container, which i'm sure the tri-bento excels as, i envisioned it as an entire mess kit... & it works pretty well too, i can fit a vargo triad alcohol stove, 5oz. of fuel, small windscreen, ferro rod & striker, matches, small lighter, small scrubber, small vial of soap, some ramen & oatmeal, nut butter packets, tamari packets, coconut oil packets, bouillon cubes, & 4 assorted tea bags... with enough fresh water that's at least a couple days worth of food & the means to cook...i was worried the steel wouldn't be thick enough, but ecolunchbox states on their site, "Food may be reheated in the metal containers in a medium-heat oven or over a campstove." ... compared to an msr stowaway pot it is as thick or just a smidge thinner, & it held up well on the test run over the vargo triad, brought 1 cup of water to a boil in about 5 minutes, the only way to tell it was on the fire is the lovely patina the hot blue everclear flame left on the bottom... the clips work well as handles to lift the pot on & off the stove, & an msr pot lifter (or other) works fine on it as well...the only thing i would change is to make it a 2 section instead of 3, if the bottom portion were bigger it would fit more water for cooking purposes... since it does have such a small capacity, 8-10 ounces tops, i probably wouldn't use it as my primary cookware for camping or backpacking, but it is nice to have the option to use it to cook/heat food or boil water in when used as just lunch box, & loaded up similar to described above would be good as mess kit for lunch on a hike or in the vehicle for emergencies...very happy with & highly recommend the tri bento for what it is, & still a big fan of ecolunchbox, they put out some quality stuff!

This is a sturdy lunch kit. It's doesn't fit in the flat square lunch box I bought, so I had to get a different taller shaped lunch box. But you can pack all your lunch components in one container. The handles were a little tricky for my kids at first, but once they got the hang of it there are no issues with opening. It is not leak proof for liquid, so don't put soup in it, but I've never had an issue with anything leaking. When I wash this I hand dry it right away, or it gets water spots. I don't know if this is actually detrimental to the product, or if I just don't like the way that looks. It's worked great for school lunches and I plan to use it for camping as well.

I was dying to get this seeing that it was advertised being a high-quality stainless steel, eco-friendly, and safe solution to packing food.I was unfortunately extremely disappointed upon receiving it as I noticed the poor craftsmanship. The clips looked so hastily put together as if someone just held the clips onto container and smashed it with heat onto the body. The clips seemed poorly considered as if an after thought. The soldering was so bad that it left some really rough and sharp edges inside the otherwise smooth polished stainless steel interior. As my headline mentioned, finger got stabbed by a raised metal spike inside the container during its first wash. And that was the end of it. The more I inspected it, the more disappointed I became.WAYYY to expensive for what it is. Body is beautiful. Clips are horrible—crookedly soldered on. I would not recommend this product AT ALL. I'm going to return it IMMEDIATELY.

I bought the LUNchbox Tri Bento as another step in trying to eliminate plastic from our food. There were several negative reviews but more positive ones so I took the chance. It has been one of my better decisions as this is really a great product. The best test was when it was thrown across the car as the driver sped around a corner. The box did not open.It holds enough food for my grazer to have fresh veggies to munch on during work and still have a nice lunch. If you are feeding a ravenous teen, it might not be enough but it's great for a normal human. There were some comments about it not fitting properly or being difficult to close. These may reflect the fact that it only fits together one way. The parts are not interchangeable. The stainless steel cleans easily and so far the finish holds its shine. I wouldn't use it for hot soup, get a thermos for that but it has held barbecue sauce without leaking. The price was half of what I would have paid to my usual kitchen supplier. It's a great product.
