Not easy for a senior to use this tool, but my son was able to complete the job with ease with this tool. One thing though, the name of the tool was not the same that was pictured on Amazon, so I was going to return it, but it worked, so it has been added to my tools.

Cutting 12 gauge steel wire with this is no problem! My only gripe is that it requires some adjustment and lubrication to get an easy and clean open and close motion. right out of the box it is a bit "sticky" when opening and closing the bolt cutters but they cut as advertised. Just be aware a fresh one out of the box is going to need some mild adjustments, but after that they work like a dream!

This thing works fine if you need a compact bolt cutter. One with longer handles for leverage would be easier to use, but if you need something that you can easily take with you, it will do!
