Used this to completely remove an old brass chain lock from an apartment door. I'm 6 feet tall, 185 pounds, and it only took a little bit of elbow grease and a few seconds to sever the chain. Excellent, sturdy, durable construction. Not a cheap product.

The opening and closing of this product is difficult due to the tightness and friction of the joint.

These work well for cutting nails. Cutters were a bit stiff, so loosed 2 nuts at the jaws a bit and that worked. 5 stars from me.

Worked great though, as one would expect, was a problem when using to cut directly beside on of the wires on the shelving due to the width of the cutter. Was only an issue because I wanted precise cut so had to cut and then use a metal file to file a bit closer. The cutter sure did make short work of those shelf wires though so sped up the install process greatly.

Chain link fence, no problem. Chicken wire, easy. Shed padlock, check. Toolbox locks, too easy. Paid for itself in one night!

Lost key to an old (smallish) lock that wasn't being used but that was closed and hanging on my pool gate. Got tired of seeing it there so I ordered this and boom like cutting through butter. I barely had to put any pressure on this just snipped right off. It wasn't the full size master lock but not much smaller. Great quality product. Better than expected. I'll probably never use this again but it worked for what I needed it for and it was priced just right.

Having never had a pair of bolt cutters before, I read several reviews to figure what I really needed. Since we were trimming wire shelves and brackets, we didn't need something major but I hated to buy a tool for just one reason. I figured if I need to cut a lock or some bigger bolt from my shed or other areas in the house during remodeling, bigger is better and with bolt cutters, buying bigger is the best practice.These cut through our shelves like butter with next to very little effort. My kids could probably operate these easily enough - one reason I keep these far out of their hands - could easily hurt someone if used improperly.

I purchased this in advance of actually possibly needing it, but ended up having an opportunity to use it. Let me just say that while Paul Bunyan would have had an easier time putting the force into this that was needed to cut the lock I cut, I managed to do it. That being said, I was the weakest link in this operation because this tool cut that lock with ease. It was a rather substantial, hardened lock; possibly a Brinks. The only arms that gave out during this operation were MINE! The tool itself was never in question. After cutting the lock, I checked the bite on the tool to see if there was any loss of edge... any depressions in the metal... and there were NONE! I'd recommend this without reservation. I did choose the 30-inch length to provide greater leverage and thus greater ease in cutting any lock, which I believe came in quite handy with the lock that I had to cut.
