works great but would have been better if it comes with instruction as to how to change the cover. have to figure it out on my own .

Avoid Eheim!!!Critical parts such as O-rings are nearly impossible to get for many Eheim models.Eheim technical support is non-existent in the US in my experience.The 2217 uses a cheap plastic outlet nipple that is prone to snapping off. The 2262, 5 gallon models frequently leak around the impeller plate cover. Eheim magnets on the pump impellers routinely crack causing the pumps to fail.I have personally installed dozens of Eheim filter but due to their terrible customer support and lack of replacement parts can no longer recommend Eheim.Fluval isn't much better but at least they have tech support.

Product is a direct Fit Replacement for my Eheim 2217 which is about 8 years old. Cracked the nipple on top while servicing, temporarily repaired it, ordered this immediately. Came within a day or two, installed, filter works as normal. Great replacement.
