This car radio antenna looks decent and seems to be made of decent quality materials. I had to drill a hole in my pristine '02 Grand Prix quarter panel, so I was determined to make something work. The way it mounts is not bad. I made a good grounding surface inside for the ground side to make contact. Installation was pretty easy. After I installed the antenna, the crappy reception I had from the factory antenna was replaced by ZERO reception from this little rubber drumstick. Luckily I found a 26 inch steel whip antenna from one of my old vehicles that would screw onto the base. Well, I'll be darned....RADIO RECEPTION! I cut into the little rubber mast that was my new antenna to see how it's made. I assumed that maybe it had a wire molded into the mast that would span the length of the rubber. Nope. Including the base that's mounted on the car, there is approximately 3 inches of material that's capable of receiving radio waves. I guess if you live a block from every station you want to listen to it would probably work. If that's the case, the factory antenna would be fine too.

I needed to replace the aging, rusted out antenna on my truck. This one did the job. It fit great and I get much better reception.

I installed it on our dozer to replace original which a tree broke it off, this one works good but seems very delicate just on installation but so far is ok but dozer is working out in the open right now
