Doing what it's suppose to...keeping my son from pulling it off. Just remove the original base, don't forget to take pics of your wiring, then screw in this one. Installed within 10min if that.

As parents of 3 littles, all with curious fingers that like to grab and pull things off of walls. We were desperate for something to keep our beloved thermostat safe and working.This took 5 minutes to install, and the kids have all tried to take it off the wall with no success.Very pleased

what I like about this is the idea1. it physically stops anyone pulling off the thermostat from the wall- at least initially!2. It physically stops the bezel from being rotated- great idea when this device is in a public setting.Both likes are mainly for use in public settings such as offices, it stops employees from fighting over the control of temperatures.The dislike!1. It is only a lock in the sense of it stopping anyone turning the bezel to alter settings and generally screw up the device. it does NOT provide strong enough enclosure on the face ,it's downright wrong that this product is so pathetically weak that one can nudge it as they walk past and the actual face pops off!How on earth can this product that looks good for its purpose be so darn lame? Because the manufacturer has gotten cheap on the product which btw is NOT cheap.The manufacturer has to retool for this product and make it a worthwhile buy. I won't be buying any more , as I say it's a great idea but the manufacturer has faceplanted!

My daughter’s friends would always mess with it. Finally I had enough telling them multiple times not to touch it and bought this. I love it!! My husband and I are the only ones who know how to take it off. Her friends have that they can’t touch it. My electric and gas bills are now back to normal since we found out they were messing with it.

I bought this because I have an autistic child that was fixated on my Nest thermostat. He'd take it off the mount or just constantly mess with it. The elago lock has partially fixed the problem in that my son can no longer take it off the mount. However he can still tap it. If he does it hard enough, it can become dislodged from it's base and require reconnection. I think this would be a perfect product if elago put a clear plexiglass window over the center or this case to prevent it from being pressed. Still, not a bad product. It just needs a little modification to be perfect.

The product is called a "Lock Case". It does nothing of the sort. When I first opened it, I assumed I had a damaged one due to the ease of pulling it apart (without the screwdriver). After inspection, it appears to just be so poorly designed/made that it doesn't hold together under even the slightest pressure. What an absolute waste of plastic.
