Despite the weight of the Electro Voice mics, the shock mount remains steady. Occasional tightening of the thumb screws is necessary for angling the mic where you need it.

The mount has the quality we all expect from ElectroVoice products! Fast shipping, too!

I chose this model because it's compatible with the microphone I use (RE20). Assembly is easy, but the mic feels top-heavy bc I have it on a desktop mic stand rather than a boom arm so it's inverted. Every radio studio I've ever used has arms, and it feels much more supported that way. They included 4 extra neoprene cords if these ever give out so that's an added bonus.

I purchased the EV-RE20 and saw a deal for a microphone stand with a NON-309A mount made by Arrow. The arrow mount was bad. I went back to Amazon and purchased the 309A mount and now I'm happy again. I only recommend 309A mount for EV products because they are engineered properly.

The EV 309A is beautiful. It’s pleasing to the eye, and most importantly, it works in shielding your sensitive mic from vibrations. However, its biggest drawback is not even in its price, as people are happy to pay for quality, but in a critical design flaw in which the thread to fasten the shock mount to the boom arm is waaaaay too short, thus causing the mount to loosen every time the boom arm is pivoted. This is exceptionally annoying as you’re going to find yourself tightening the mount several times a day if you’re one who likes to pivot the boom arm throughout the day.

Not much to say here. It appears to be a genuine EV 309A Shock Mount. It is very nice. Strong. Good design. It came with an extra set of rubber suspensions. It's big though. Actually, so is the mic so it's proportional to the size of the mic. I just found it hard to spend 20% of the cost of the mic for the mount. I rated the value for the money low. It is well built and is a good product. What I mean is that EV inflated the price and fixed that high price across the market. It is rather expensive for what it is but if you have a mic like the RE-27 I think there's no other shock mount that will be as nice as this one.

Nice shock mount super cool look, functions well but a little pricey in my opinion. You really don't need this, but it's really cool looking lol.

I bought this begrudgingly because the price and the aesthetic are issues for me. The RE20 is very sensitive and amplifies the noise on my desk mounted boom arm and every time I touched the desk I'd get a bass guitar noise from the vibrations. This is not the case when mounted to a standard mic stand. There is something about this mic, the desk and desk mounted boom arm that creates a special tonal instrument. Anyway, I had to do something about it and I thought the simplest solution would be the 309A and I wasn't wrong. For the price you get something well made and perfectly suited for the mic. I didn't like the aesthetic at first but now that I use it I appreciate the extra length it gives my boom arm and I like that you can grab and adjust the mic by the stand itself. Very 'handy'. So I'd reccomend for anyone in my situation.

Pricey microphone specific shock-mount, but there is a reason why and it's worth it! The shock-mount is designed for a select few Electro-Voice microphones and it is a must in environments where the microphone is adjusted or mounted on a stand which is susceptible to vibration, such as a mic desk boom arm. Please note, the shock-mount is large in comparison to other shock-mounts, but that is to accommodate the physical dimensions of the microphone.

I do a podcast and wanted the best microphone possible for it. The two standards are the EV RE20 and the Shure SM7B (I have both). As my boom is anchored to the wall there was really no need for this shock mount, but I figured, "Hey, it's an expensive microphone, let me baby the thing." The design of the mount is okay, but where it screws into the boom, it comes loose all the time. I'm constantly tightening the knurled screw, pain in the neck. Also, the suspension system is needlessly complex and in my estimation a little less secure than I want, plus the mic wobbles in it at the slightest touch. These may not be deal killers to some people and that's fine. I'm not sure if there are alternatives for this as it comes from Electro Voice and is built for this size and shape mic, but unless you absolutely must have a shock mount I'd avoid this because it's expensive and somewhat flimsy.
