Tactile and Visual Stimulation
The Sandpaper Letters allow the child to understand writing before they can hold a pencil. The Child uses three of the five senses; tactile, auditory, and sight to learn the sound and formation of each letter. In the interaction of visual and tactile linguistic stimulation, children can learn and remember letters better.
Concept of the Letters
The sandpaper letters guide the hand for writing as the child traces the letter shapes in the style and direction that they are written. The sandpaper letters will benefit the children’s knowledge from the tactile experience of these letters and also helps the students make the connection between the physical movement of forming letters and the actual letter shapes. Comparing the capital to the lowercase letter and recognizing when the capital letter is used.
Item Use
The sound games are the prerequisite for the Sand Paper Letters and great learning activity. The child can be advanced or possibly just learning for this exercise. In both cases the activity works great with their language skills. The child will get both visual and kinesthetic impression of each letter. Advancing in spelling, writing, reading and speech. The item itself has 26 lower and upper case sandpaper letters. All lower case letters are pink and capital case letters are blue.
Some examples for small activities for the Sand Paper Letters could be:
- Trace the letter in the air and have the child say its sound.
- Sound the letter and have the child write the letter.
- Spelling Contest with two-three letter words.
Practice Capital and Lowercase usage.

These upper and lower case sandpaper letter are printed in sandpaper of fiberboard and seem like excellent quality that will last. They came carefully packaged with foam, thin paper sheets and shrink wrap to avoid any damage during transit. They were also come in reverse order to allow for ease in unboxing and then storing.

Yes, these are smaller than traditional Montessori materials but for those of us that need an affordable option these are awesome!

These are great. They are smaller than I expected but that is my mistake for not checking. They are the perfect size for the the hands of the children who are using them though!

Thick, sturdy, and well made. We had a pair of these for years and the quality never changed. The sand paper did not rub off. We are on our second set only because we lost some of our first. I am very pleased with the quality of the sandpaper letters and the value. My daughter enjoyed using them and they were very helpful in helping her learn to write.

I was skeptic on these because of the price but they are amazing and sturdy ! The only downfall which I’m sure can’t be avoided is the sand that falls off but I wouldn’t not buy just becauseOf this.

Yes, they are exactly Montessori classroom size or quality, but that's not what I need for my children at home. These are sized perfectly for our small school shelves and seem to be holding up well to 3 and 5 year old hands.There was some loose sand in the package but not too much.I did add a small dot to remind them where to start tracing each letter.Yes, I do recommend!

This is great! You can have your child touch the construction of the letters or use them as flash cards. I also set up the at words and change out the first letter. I am still learn what I can do with this tool but it has been great so far and I know we will have years. of use with this one!!The construction is solid wood boxes with thick wood letters that have sandpaper letters you can touch.
