This 5-6 ounce pice was advertised as suitable for making belts. Problem is that it is too flexible and the traditional 8-10 ounce strap is to be preferred. Top quality. Good guy answered the shop phone. I sent it back but immediately ordered the same block latigo strap in thicker leather. Please note, this product has nothing to do with China.

Product received is as-described and genuine leather. At first I mistakenly believed the product was made from fake leather due to the cloth-like pattern pressed into the back side (from whatever process they use to treat the leather) and the fine finish of the full grain which gives it a ‘plasticy’ appearance. However, my experienced leatherworker confirmed for me that this product is in fact genuine leather, and of good quality. That being said, beware of reviews indicating this seller peddles fake leather - as they are probably left by customers with limited experience and knowledge such as myself. Trust the experts. Five stars.

The color was rich and the leather was flawless in every way. I have an antique brass belt buckle that is green and blue and the average brown leather belt strap just wouldn’t do. This blue leather belt blank was just right, in price, thickness, durability, purpose, functionality and was put to good use. The extra I can use in my other crafts.

The product is not full grain leather. The OZ of the leather is a lot thinner than what was advertised. It’s about 2-3 oz not 5-6.
